Traveling - City of Freedom (Extra Chapter 3)
Italy-
The vineyards that Grey gave to Valentina were all picked and bought on the spot, but the ones given by William. Apart from the vineyard which was a ready-made contract, the rest of the things including the winery were all new.
If it wasn't because he wanted Valentina to taste the wine as soon as possible, William would probably even think of buying new seedlings for the vineyard.
Gabriel: "Safe Haven Vineyards? How did you come up with the idea?"
William gave him a side glance: "Actually, it's my idea."
Gabriel stiffened his face: "Huh? This is your winery?"
He secretly swallowed his saliva and hid behind Valentina.
Valentina lightly cornered her lips.
William had to explain, "It's not that. I'm just trying to give a sign of good fortune since it's a present for you. I want you to be safe forever."
Valentina clearly understood his intentions. She intentionally ignored his explanation and repeated in the same playful, surprised tone: "I didn't expect that there is something that you are not so good at..."
William: "......"
The winery was huge, and the whole winery was filled with the sweet fragrance of grapes and wine. Valentina felt that the air here smelled wonderful.
In the evening.
Valentina was lying in bed. After checking the messages, she shut her phone off and put it aside. She looked at William — his hair still wet after a shower — looking at a stack of photos of the two of them.
Augus had left plenty of images with both of them in the frame.
The photos in William's hand are freshly developed.
These are the pictures that William has been carefully keeping along the way.
He sat on the side, the outline of his face was more three-dimensional under the light. But at this moment, he was smiling at the photo, he seemed to be less cold. In fact, Valentina has never found him cold.
And in fact, he had never treated her coldly.
Noticing her gaze, William turned to look at her, but her tender foot suddenly stepped on his face.
Her warm foot was tightly against his cold cheek. William's healthy skin seemed to have a strong contrast with her overly white feet. Unintentionally, her actions were ambiguously seductive, making William could hardly control his desires.
William laughed, grabbed her small foot with his big hand, bent down to give it a kiss. He looked at her, casually putting the photo aside, and bending down to kiss her.
It looked as though Valentina was grossed out by the mouth, and she turned her head away, exposing her pale neck to him. By the time Valentina realized it and tried to turn back, his burning breath was already close. His warm lips forcefully kissed her soft neck as he nibbled on it.
The strange numb feeling was like an electric shock, spreading all over her body in an instant, Valentina looked at him with annoyance.
William was grinning, like a fox that had stolen something. Just because her neck was a bit sensitive, and she usually didn't let him touch it. Only in bed could William find an opportunity, and once touched, her reaction and the taste it brought were fatal to William.
Fearlessly, William kissed her lips again, then kissed her. He was pressing on top of her, with one arm holding her under him, his hand touching her head, gradually deepening the kiss.
However, Valentina turned her face away again, and ruthlessly spit out two words: "No way."
William raised his face, his tone suggestive and eyes straight enough to make anyone blush, "Wasn't that an invitation just now?"
"Invitation my foot."
William looked at her somewhat foggy eyes and asked softly, "Drunk?"
Valentina didn't respond to him.
"Should I pour you a glass of water?"
"Not thirsty."
William teased, "Not drunk? Honestly, I really want to see what you look like when you're drunk, wondering if you'd be any different from when you are sober."
Valentina retorted, "I'm quite curious too. Why don't you fetch me a few more high-alcohol drinks?"
"I'd rather keep that curiosity. You can hold your liquor too well, and I wouldn't want you to harm yourself from too much alcohol."
"Have you ever gotten drunk? How does it feel? Is your consciousness clear?"
William instinctively answered, "I've never been drunk either."
Valentina reminisced: "So, that time in Cavernia when you said you were drunk and you held and carried me - was that a lie?"
William thought, 'She's full of surprises.'
William laughed with a look of guilt and embarrassment on his face, but nonetheless leaned in to press his face against Valentina's and said, "If you feel wronged, you can wrap your arms around me once, twice, as many times as you want. I won't resist."
"I'm not going to satisfy you."
William laughed even harder: "Why are your retorts always so amusing." He couldn't help but plant a kiss on her.
"Do you have to press down on me to carry on this conversation?" His hard chest was a bit confronting.
William hugged her, rolling over to switch their positions.
Exhausted, Valentina simply laid on top of him, closing her eyes pretending to doze off: "It's already been used, what's the point of changing it."
William stroked her head gently, "I also think it's good, that guy Gabriel simply doesn't understand."
Seeing Valentina appeared to be sleeping, William quietly put her back on the bed, leaned in close to her, nuzzling her nose, "Are you really not going to do it?"
Valentina opened her eyes, "Scram."
William sighed lightly, but let her go regardless: "You've had so much to drink. I'm sure you'll be thirsty later. Let me pour you a glass of water."
He got up, covered her with the quilt, and stepped off the bed to fetch her water.
Valentina lay in bed, listening to his retreating footsteps as he fetched the water. She found herself watching him as he returned and placed the glass on the nightstand. He went on to clean up the photos at the foot of the bed, prepare the clothes she was to wear the next day and even placed her scattered shoes properly, to make it easier for her to wear them when she got up.
Valentina had friends, and their relationships were deep, but she was one who was used to being alone, especially in matters of life.
Due to her professional habits, she would never delegate to others anything she could handle herself, especially minor tasks. She was more meticulous when she handled these tasks herself.
However, she found herself increasingly used to having William in her life.
Whether it's pouring a glass of water or fetching something, she would ask him, and occasionally, even her silver needles would be sterilized by him.
This kind of dependence was unacceptable for an assassin, and her past self would certainly not have allowed herself to cultivate such a habit. Not even if this person was Raven. But now, it seemed she just didn't care anymore.
William finished tidying up, turned off the light, and quietly lay down, pulling her into his arms: "Good night."
The final stop of their journey - Montavia.
They went straight to Valentina's private residence - Freedom City.
Gabriel yelled, "Holy shit, this house, it's so fucking cool!"
Augus looked at him, "I know this house. It seems to be called the Freedom City. I've seen it online."
Leonard said, "I heard that this house was designed by the owner himself." He then looked at Valentina.
Gabriel asked the question deeply rooted in his mind: "Valentina, are you sure you didn't time travel back here? With your age... and your experience, abilities, and wealth... I mean, it just doesn't add up."
"You need to understand and accept that people are different."
"......"
Ever since Valentina unlocked the door with her iris, and they walked inside, faced with the sight of a tall, cool robot housekeeper, a series of high-tech operations similar to those in dramas, and the sea view outside, Gabriel was speechless.
Out of kindness, Valentina led Gabriel to the garage he had been longing for, mainly because he was making too much noise.
Then she took William to her room.
In her room was a photo of herself. It was taken by Grey, developed and framed for her.
As soon as William saw the photo, he guessed it was taken by Grey.
Looking at the photo of Valentina in the picture, William eagerly asked, "When can we take a wedding photo together?"
"After taking wedding photos, what's next? Getting married? Having a baby?"
William nodded: "Yes."
"Isn't that a bit too greedy?"
"This is a process, the beginning and end you don't like can be discarded, the wedding, I am looking forward to it, but I respect your choice. However, the marriage..." he wanted to say it is essential, but these words sound too compulsory. So he said, "I would strive for it."
Valentina seems satisfied with his attitude, "I'll consider it."
"What will you consider? The wedding photos, the marriage, or the wedding ceremony?"
Ignoring his question, Valentina proposed. "There's an armory in my basement. Do you want to have a look?" She thought of something and added, "Let’s first register for your iris before that. It will make the opening of the door convenient."
Considering William's status, both fingerprint and iris were critical private information. She paused and asked, "Is this convenient for you?"
"It is. Besides, where could possibly be safer than your place?"
While having the iris registered, William humored himself saying, "Does this mean I have a legitimate reason to be in and out of here?"
Valentina shook her head, "Grey and Tim could access here as well."
He knew it already.
Valentina noticed the look of disappointment on his face, kept silent, and continued typing on the keyboard. But after two minutes, she told him, "You can use the term 'legitimate' now. You are the only one."
The fickle-minded her had ruthlessly deleted the other two.
William smiled.
