I'm That Charming
Gabriel swallowed hard, his emotions unsettled for quite a while.
"Did you really do all those things reported online? Some of the things happened when you were just little."
In the classroom, Gabriel tried to lower his voice, the excitement was evident on his face, with his features twisted to exaggeration.
Valentina said, "Only the incident of the Pentagon system being changed counts, the rest..." Valentina glanced at Gabriel's phone screen. "Not challenging enough, not worth it."
Gabriel gaped, "Are you even speaking human language?"
Was this the disparity among humans?
Gabriel always thought that aside from not being a good student, he had many other shine spots.
For now, he felt mediocre.
"What did you do in your childhood? At the age of one, did you solve high math? At two, did you study medicine and cure diseases? Dunk at three, fight and race cars at four, and hack people's computers at five?"
Valentina modestly replied, "Not quite that amazing, I didn't touch a computer when I was five." She raised her eyes, with a raised eyebrow, "I was handling guns."
"What..."
She was so convincing that even if it was bull, it had about a 99% chance of being believed. It was exasperating and hard to know whether to believe it or not.
Gabriel took a deep breath, lowered his head to look at his phone, and saw the chat records of a hacker group that had been leaked by someone.
Holding a screenshot, he asked, "Valentina, who is Y? Is he your friend? Why do I feel familiar with his tone of speech?"
Valentina didn't even lift her head, "The one who imprisoned and abused me."
Gabriel was stunned.
Down the hall, Reiz from Sunnydale Institute of Technology saw the chat records that were frenziedly shared amongst netizens. He saw his master, Kiev, being questioned by S.
Listening to his classmates passionately discussing Hacker S, even purposefully mentioning in front of him that God S was a Thawville.
The excitement on their faces was even more than if they had won the world championship.
The truth was, they really had won the world.
A year later, the one who got face-slapped, Reiz, couldn't describe what he felt. After all, he was also a follower of S, he desperately learned hacking techniques, fantasizing about joining his master's hacker group someday, that would be the closest he could get to God S.
What he didn't expect was that the God S he always believed in was indeed a Thawville, whom he had always looked down upon.
"Long live the idol!" Leonard cheered excitedly in the office.
"If I had known that this chat group would be so lively and that Thawville hackers would have such a triumphant day, I should've stayed in the group without being shameless.
"Imagine how thrilling it would be if everyone knew that Miss Ricardo is Hacker S," Leonard mused to himself.
On this day, whole nation knew and remembered the Hacker S.
During these five days, the news about Hacker S was wildly reported in the country.
Netizens, regardless of gender, were all deeply fascinated by this mysterious, icy yet patriotic and protective Hacker S.
Then a piece of news emerged. Hacker Y had altered the song that Hacker S had played in Times Square, even adding his own name to the credits.
"Ah, why did it feel a bit passionate around here?"
"Who would've thought there's even coupling to get excited about?"
"So far, this is the most mysterious couple to fantasize about. Unknown looks, unknown age, even unknown genders, but damn, it's still a great ship!"
"Isn't Y also a fanboy of the God S?"
"These two people definitely know each other in private, and their relationship is not shallow."
"I guess just a sort of holding hands and kissing relationship in private."
"Curious about what two top hackers would talk about in their free time? Discussing which building to play what song in today?"
"Good lord, are all the hackers in Thawville going to start playing songs up there? I have a bit of money, can I request a song?"
"Mr. William certainly never misses any opportunities in relation to Miss Ricardo," grumbled Leonard.
Seeing the discussion among the netizens was so heated, even Leonard felt like he wanted to pick a song and display his code name as well.
But it was just a thought.
After all, he still had several big players above him.
If halfway through his song got replaced by someone, well, he would become famous too - famous in a rather embarrassing way.
Gabriel showed his cell phone screen to Valentina, "Look at this old man. He's practically flirting with you all the way to Montavia."
Valentina glanced at the screen. She had anticipated that William would do this, but upon seeing his code trailing behind hers, a smirk curled up unconsciously at the corner of her mouth.
William arrived, carrying chicken soup and a few clothes for Valentina.
"These clothes look good on you, so I brought them here for you."
Valentina poked fun at him, "Planning to do this every few days?"
With his intentions exposed, William did not deny it, "I wanted to see you and bring you clothes."
William opened the thermal container, "I brought you chicken soup."
Valentina took it. Before she took a sip, she asked, "Did you make it?"
William poured the soup into the bowl, "Yes. I promised in the slums that I would make it for you again when we got back home."
He handed her the spoon, "Taste it. Is it better?"
After a sip, Valentina slightly lifted her eyebrow, her reaction revealing the excellent flavor, "You cheated by looking up the recipe, right?"
"I didn’t."
Valentina didn't believe it, not unless he had failed ninety-nine times before, exhausted ninety-nine chickens, and a pile of ginsengs.
William said, "The chef was guiding me on the side."
"Not wasting food is a virtue too."
William chuckled and seeing her bare wrist, he asked, "Why haven't you worn your bracelet?"
Valentina replied, "I put it away."
William gave a slight nod, "That's fine too."
William asked, "You disappeared for such a long time and suddenly returned to school. What did you tell them?"
"Mr. Jefferson said I was deeply into medical studies, Gabriel claimed that I was imprisoned and tortured by you. Mr. Felton, you know better than anyone else, why not help me choose a suitable version?"
William questioned, "So there are only these two explanations? Mr. Jefferson is old and Gabriel, a young master of nobility, has prejudices against me. Their ideas are often detached from reality, didn't you think of understanding the version among normal people?"
Valentina gave him a casual glance. She knew he had something up his sleeve from the moment he brought up this topic.
As expected, William said, "Your classmates at Biddeford University have a very fitting and unified version." His tone was slow and enticing, "Secret marriage, childbirth."
Valentina responded, "This is the most absurd one, so am I abnormal?"
Without rushing, William responded, "It's indeed absurd to drop out of school for marriage and childbirth at such a young age. But if the person you're marrying is me, would it be reasonable?"
Valentina slightly pulled her mouth corner, "Mr. Felton, you are quite confident."
William laughed lightly, "After all, you once said that I'm attractive."
Valentina was speechless.
"There are now countless men and women online who want to marry you, do you have anything to say about this?"
Valentina sipped her soup, lazily smirking, "If they are more attractive than you, why not?"
