Childish Two

He continued, "Thank you for not letting me lose you." William never worried about not being able to persist. He had long been prepared to guard her for a lifetime. Eight months and twelve days and nights were not too long, yet every second was torture. But from beginning to end, even when he was emotionally strained, his only concern was Valentina who was conscious might be suffering. His concise words always touched hearts more than those overly affectionate words. He put her first in everything, ignoring himself, only seeing her become thinner day by day as she lay in bed but not noticing his own haggardness. How can she not be touched by this? Valentina stared at him for a long time. It was the first time William had seen her with such a look. He couldn't help feeling a bit anxious, yet expectant, assuming she would say affectionate words or even initiate intimacy. But she cornered up a smile, "Indeed, you should thank me. I woke up just before you're too old with wrinkles and grey hair." William was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. He knew it would be like this. Expectation after expectation, disappointment after disappointment, he surely had a bad memory and didn't learn from his mistakes. The next moment, her arm around his neck suddenly tightened slightly as she nestled onto his shoulder, whispering into his ear, "You never age." Her voice was so soft that William almost couldn't hear it. William chuckled, gently bending down to place her back on the ground, then buried his face in her neck, his large hand gently stroking her waist. He said, "I received your confession video. Can you repeat that line of love to me?" Valentina raised her eyebrows, "Confession video? Love words?" "Hmm, can't you remember? You said that I'm your greatest surprise after you were reborn." "From which peculiar perspective did you understand this sentence, and how did you interpret these words?" "Am I wrong?" Valentina flatly denied, "Yes, you are." Upon hearing this, William immediately let go of her with a serious look on his face, he was sure he hadn't misunderstood, "That is a line of confession of love." "No." William stared at her, "Yes." Valentina expressionless, "No." William was persistent, "Yes." Valentina looked at the persistent William, fell silent for a moment, then spoke up, "On October 28, you cried." William froze for a moment, swiftly denying, "No." Valentina asserted, "Yes, you lied on my lap." William's face was expressionless, "No." Valentina persisted, "Yes, you did." The two of them childishly bickered. William stubbornly retorted, "No." Valentina said, "Alright then." It seemed as if she had let him go. She picked up her foot to leave, but as she was about to step forward, she irritatingly tossed out another sentence with extreme certainty, "You did." William followed her, "I did not." Valentina smirked as she walked towards the room. Laughter filled William's face. When Valwill woke up and ran upstairs, it saw Valentina and pounced on her excitedly. Its tail was wagging like a fan as if it was about to fly off. It seemed to have transformed back from an old adult dog into a young pup. Its frustration disappeared untended. Valwill excitedly circled around Valentina non-stop, running in loops. Even though it generally ignored the robotic William, when William approached, it excitedly rushed over, took a leap, and kicked the robot, then quickly flew back to Valentina's side. The robot was welcomed with a flying kick from Valwill as soon as it entered the door, almost activating its self-defense program to bomb Valwill with a couple of grenades. Upon seeing Valentina, the robot, with its usually stern electronic eyes, immediately switched to a softer look, moving forward with tearful eyes, "Sweetheart, you're awake." William was in the bathroom cleaning up. In the room, it was a lively scene with a girl, a dog, and a robot. Valentina squatted on the ground, holding Valwill's head and playing with it. Then she saw William in a smart suit, just out of the bathroom. His chin was cleanly shaven, and his tie was impeccably knotted. He was dressed in a black dress shirt and sleek black shoes, coupled with two long legs encased in dress pants. Valentina squinted at him, "Going to the company?" "Certainly not." Valentina teased him, "Going for a blind date?" William retorted, "Are you picking the place? I'll buy roses." With a poker face, Valentina asked, "What is this?" "My usual attire, accompanying you for breakfast." Valentina looked at him, sizing him up once more, her expression becoming more lively. "Are you trying to make up for your image in front of me?" "Make up? Not necessary. It's simply because it has been so long since we have seen each other, I want you to see the best of me." Under her breath, Valentina muttered, "Old men sure have a lot of tricks up their sleeves." But indeed, she was charmed by his effort to spruce up for her sake. The two were having breakfast when Leonard came looking for them with a file in hand. Upon seeing Valentina eating there, Leonard's file dropped to the ground. When Valentina woke up, the Felton family was the first to receive the news. Then it was Grey's turn. Too lazy to report individually, Valentina directly created a three-person chat group and added Tim and Grey into the video chat. William had come twice, her video chat had not ended, and both times he came over, he heard Grey's voice. The third time he came, she finally finished the video chat. "My parents would like to invite you for a meal, Miss Ricardo. I wonder if you have time this time," he formally invited. Subsequently, he softened his tone and asked, "Would you like to have dinner at my parents' tonight?" Valentina, holding her phone, stared at him for a while, and made him nervous before she said, "I want to eat fish." William's eyes brightened, "And what else?" Later, Valentina sent messages to Bruno and Luke. By the time evening came, Valentina glanced at the suit-clad William and asked, "Should I dress up in an evening gown?" He knew Valentina was joking. "You look great as is, my parents are already nervous, if you dress up too formally, it will make them more nervous." William found her a coat. "Besides, it's so cold outside, you'll freeze in a dress." The two stood at the entrance of the villa as snowflakes began to drift from the sky. William asked, "Shall we drive there?" "I've lain down too much, let's walk." "Then let me get an umbrella, wait for me." Holding a straight-boned black umbrella, William slipped an arm around Valentina's shoulder and stepped into the snowfall, heading towards his parents' house. The lights of the Felton family shone brightly all the way. There was no accumulated snow on the ground, it was all fresh downfall. Similar to how he had introduced the house to Augus, William introduced it to Valentina. Gabriela seemed a bit nervous, she hadn't been this way when meeting her other two daughters-in-law. She occasionally checked her attire and had people keep an eye on the meals to ensure they didn't cool down. Seeing Gideon sitting in a chair with a serious face, she reminded him, "When they arrive, you can't be like this. You must smile, understand? Miss Ricardo is not even twenty yet, don't scare her." Gideon looked at her without comment.
