Chapter 446
Sabrina turned her around and saw that it was indeed Linda who was ridiculing her.
Sabrina said with an unwaveringly calm tone, “Linda, were you envious of me? You were envious that I had climbed on top of you when I was a newcomer, and you were envious that I was younger than you, but I had gained more male admirers than you. How have you been getting by? How could you be so defeated?”
Linda was speechless.
She noticed more and more that Sabrina had a sharp tongue, and she was not easy to mess with.
As soon as Sabrina finished her sentence, Nigel then spoke up, “Did you think that I, Nigel Conor, was from a declining family and had no more power? You dared to crap all over me! No matter how bad I was, if I wanted to crush you, I could still crush you like ants! All of you would have the case of sour grapes!
“Which one of your eyes saw that Sabrina and I were having an affair?
“Was it possible that if you, the kind of bitter woman that nobody wanted, met a male acquaintance on the street and had a few words with him, then you would be considered as having an illicit relationship with the man?”
“Was that so?”
The group of women who Nigel reprimanded did not dare to say anything.
Nigel still had no intention to stop. “The next time I see you were bullying Sabrina with rumors like these, I would gouge your eyes out! I would do what I said!”
Seeing how ruthless Nigel looked, the few female employees from the design department almost peed their pants. The entire South City knew that Nigel had a domineering cousin, Sebastian, that nobody dared to mess with. How different could Nigel be even if the Conor family had fallen?
Therefore, at the moment, even if Nigel had scolded them, no one dared to make a noise.
On the other hand, Nigel looked at Sabrina calmly and said, “You may answer the phone first.”
Sabrina reacted in time, “Uh…Two right six, you could transfer it over.”
The receptions ran off in a flash.
Sabrina’s landline rang not long after, and she picked up the call, “Hello, may I know who is speaking?”
“Sabrina, I am Marcus,” said Marcus, who was on the other end.
Sabrina did not recognize Marcus’ voice at first. He seemed to have caught a cold as he had a thick nasal tone. Over on this end, Sabrina asked, “Uh… What happened to your voice?”
She did not want to let the people from the company know that she had a perplexing relationship with Nigel, then Ryan, and now Marcus has been added to the mix.
This truly made it more difficult for her to clarify even if she had multiple mouths.
On the other end, Marcus laughed and said, “I haven’t stayed so long in the north before. The weather in the north is dry, and that made my throat inflamed for a few days. How was it, Sabrina? Have you been working well at the company? Ever since you were hired, my grandpa had fallen ill and was being treated at Kidon City, so I had not been to the company for some time. Have you gotten used to working at the company yet? By the way, why did you turn off your phone? I had no choice but to call you on the landline.”
Sabrina said, “…I’m doing quite alright. I like this job very much. Thank you. Well, I didn’t turn off my phone. My phone ran out of juice, and I didn’t bring a charger. I thought that no one would call me anyway, so I could charge it at home. I didn’t expect you to call.”
“It’s good that your work has been going well. Do your best, I have faith in you! If you had any difficulties, let me know,” said Marcus over the other end of the line.
“Sure, thank you,” Sabrina politely thanked him.
“I’m in Kidon City, are there any gifts that you would like? I could bring it back for you. Hermes’s Kidon City limited edition? Perfume or something else? I’m not sure what girls would like either.” At that end, the tone Marcus used when treating Sabrina was just like the tone of a brother showing affection to his sister.
Sabrina felt a tinge of warmth in her heart, but it was fleeting. She then instantly rejected, “No, thank you. If there would be nothing else, I would be hanging up.”
