Chapter 784 Are Girls These Days All This Bold
After hesitating for a really long time, she sent Whitney a text, "Hey, could you send me Boyle's number?"
"I thought he wrote it on your palm?"
"... I've scrubbed it clean already!"
Whitney burst out laughing before sending her Boyle's number.
She even jokingly said, "See, I'm more prepared than you are! If I didn't take the number down earlier, how on Earth are you going to get his number again!"
Cherie ignored her and searched for Boyle's profile with the number.
The Facebook account only displayed a single period, "."
A single period as his account display name. This username was way too simple now!
She assumed that he just could not be bothered to think about a username for his Facebook account and since Facebook required something to be written as the username, he simply submitted a single period.
He truly was a boring person.
After hesitating for a couple seconds, she bit her lips and decided to add him.
However, after waiting till 12.30 in the morning, she had not received any notifications about him accepting her request.
It seemed like he had given her a random number just to brush her off.
She soon fell asleep.
…
It was the first day of school when she woke up the next morning.
After Cherie freshened herself up, she invited Whitney to join her for breakfast at the cafeteria.
Whitney could not help but ask while they were ordering food, "Did you add Boyle last night?"
Cherie did not answer her question and instead, she questioned her, "Have Boyle accepted your request yet?"
Whitney frowned. "He's arrogant, alright. He didn't even bother when I sent him two requests. He hasn't even accepted my friend request when I checked my notifications this morning."
Cherie thought to herself that he would most likely not accept her request yet even though she had not checked her notifications yet.
After they both ordered a burger, they found an empty spot in this spacious cafeteria to eat.
Everywhere was crowded with people on the first day of school.
"Hey Cherie, you're in the English program, right?"
"Should be. I heard there are 39 students in my class and nine of them are guys."
Whitney chuckled as she said, "Your program just lacks resources then. You know, if you're unable to find anyone appealing, I can hook you up with people. I happen to know a lot of handsome guys, especially rare handsome ones. The scarcest men in the entire school, you know."
Cherie teased, "You're saying as if you're the one that introduced me to Boyle. Come on now, he's ignoring us, okay?"
Cherie's phone chimed and it was a text message notification. She scrolled through her phone while she was munching on a burger. It turned out to be a voice message from Tyler.
"I've already spoken with my dad, Jelly Bean, and I made him keep an eye out for any spots to transfer over. He will transfer me over the instant any spot opens. I'm pretty sure the both of us will be able to study together real soon."
Whitney stared at her with a curious look and said, "Wow, Tyler sure has extremely deep feelings for you. He will follow you wherever you go, Cherie. Truly, the loyal soul indeed."
After replying to Tyler with a random emoji, she noticed a notification on her feed and it read, ". has accepted your friend request."
She was stunned.
She never expected Boyle to actually accept her friend request.
Whitney inched closer to her and said, "What are you looking at? You're completely glued to the screen even?"
Upon a much closer inspection, Whitney noticed a single period in Cherie's new friends alert on her notification.
"What the f*ck, that singular period refused to add me and he's willing to add you! Whoa, Cherie, I'm completely right! There's an 80 percent chance of him actually liking you!"
Cherie blushed a little from her remark as she said, "He only added me because I helped him. Besides, I was the one who stepped in, not you."
Whitney frowned as she broke the situation down, "You made quite the fair point here from the way you put it. However, no matter how I see it, you seemed to be a little special to Boyle though."
Cherie was speechless.
Cherie began to silently sip her soup.
…
In the main hall on the other side of the campus.
Since Boyle was the student representative, he was tasked with delivering a speech, so he was quite busy at the moment.
Boyle finally got to take a glance at his phone after being busy all morning. When he noticed a friend request notification in his phone, he clicked to check on the person's profile.
The username displayed, "Fudd family's Little Jelly Bean."
Little Jelly Bean? This seemed like a child's nickname.
Boyle clicked on the display picture to enlarge it. It was a woman's picture.
The woman's eyes were glimmering brightly and she was also holding onto a stalk of sunflower which barely obscured her eyes. Her exposed eyes were as bright as the galaxy while she was beaming happily in the picture. This would be an unforgettable picture for anyone to look at.
"What are you looking at, Boyle? I've called you several times already! The program coordinator is looking for you!"
Hector ran over from behind and nudged Boyle's arm as Boyle hastily locked his phone.
However, Hector had quite the keen eye as he noticed the display picture before Boyle could lock his phone.
Hector exclaimed in a surprised tone, "Who's that girl? Which program though? Whoa Boyle, you're actually interested in women?"
Boyle shoved his phone back into his pocket with a bitter look on his face as he replied in a calm tone, "She's not enrolled in any programs. It’s just a random picture online."
Boyle would actually look at pictures of beautiful women online?
Hector seemed as if he had discovered something new as he grinned and nudged Boyle's arm while he teased, "Oh Boyle, are you feeling a little lustful recently? I heard Huntley happened to have an archive full of porn. Do you want to take a look?"
Boyle rolled his eyes at him as he said, "You can look at it yourself."
"Why do I get this feeling that the person in that picture looks somewhat familiar?"
After thinking about it for a really long time, Hector excitedly exclaimed, "Oh! Isn't that the daughter of the Fudd family? That's why the picture looks familiar to me! Oh that's right, she's a freshman in our school. Her semester should have begun by now."
"No." Boyle casually brushed him off with a single word.
Hector persisted, "How do you even get her profile? Do you have feelings for her? Or, does she… have feelings for you instead?"
Boyle frowned slightly as he found him annoying so he pulled Hector's arm off as he said, "Are you going to take me to the program coordinator or not?"
Hector was speechless.
Hector, who refused to give up, yelled at Boyle from behind, "If you really have feelings for her, I'll have Huntley look for her for you!"
Boyle ignored him.
When he took out his phone and looked at it again, he received a text from 'Fudd family's Little Jelly Bean.'
"When are you free, Boyle?"
Boyle raised his brows slightly while he read that text. He grinned as he wondered if all women these days were this bold.
…
Whitney was running off with Cherie's phone in the cafeteria.
Cherie was chasing after her from behind with a backpack. "Whitney, you b*tch! Stop running!"
"No way! What's wrong with me helping you send a text to him when it took so much effort for you to add Boyle! Is he not handsome? He's literally a blessing! I am doing you a favor!"
"You will be my downfall, Whitney!"
After Cherie successfully snatched her phone back and just as she was about to unsend the text, it was already over the time limit and she could no longer unsend it.
However, with a much deeper thought, since Boyle was such an arrogant person, there would be an 80 percent chance of him not replying.
It would be a different story on whether or not he read her text!
