Chapter 494 Mr. Fudd’s Attentive Care

Serene stayed and hung out in the mansion for a really long time. She only left when it was almost evening. The sound of a car engine could be heard from the courtyard not long after. Verian looked through the window and noticed it was Heaton returning with Little Jelly Bean. After Little Jelly Bean climbed out of the car, she ran toward the house with her little bag. “Monty!” Verian was holding onto her slightly swollen waist as she approached her. However, the little rascal’s momentum was a little too fast. When she was about to reach Verian, she was grabbed by Heaton who was behind her. Heaton was covering Little Jelly Bean’s forehead. He was afraid that Little Jelly Bean would run into Verian’s belly with her head. “Careful, Monty is pregnant.” Verian on the other hand did not mind even the slightest bit so she replied with a smile, “Don’t worry about it. You don’t need to be that anxious.” Verian held onto Little Jelly Bean’s hand and led her into the living room. She said, “Are you tired from school today?” “I am! If only I could stay and have fun for a few days at home!” Verian patted the little rascal’s head and said, “The summer holidays will start in a few days and you’d be able to play for two months.” “Monty, where will we be enjoying our summer holidays?” Heaton immediately said, “Monty will need to unload in half a month’s time so she won’t be able to play with you for a while.” Little Jelly Bean did not quite understand what unloading meant so she asked while pouting her lips, “Unloading? Unloading what?” Verian touched her belly and said, “The baby will come out in half a month’s time now.” Little Jelly Bean touched Verian’s belly with her soft hands. She asked, “Monty, does giving birth hurt?” “It will but I’ll be fine if I resist the pain for a little while.” Little Jelly Bean lamented with a frown, “Then Monty shouldn’t have a baby since it hurts to give birth.” Verian’s heart melted to a puddle of water as she said, “Don’t worry. It won’t hurt after that. Jelly Bean, you won’t be lonely anymore after the baby is out.” Little Jelly Bean gently touched Verian’s belly and naively told the baby, “Little baby, you need to be good and not hurt Monty, okay? Or else, I will be mean to you next time.” Verian nearly burst out laughing as she stared at Little Jelly Bean’s face. She wondered if she would be as mean as a kitten. Heaton took a glance at the two empty cups and asked, “Was someone here?” “Yeah, Serene dropped by earlier. She just left. I initially wanted to have her stay for dinner.” Heaton casually asked, “Isn’t she a food addict? Why didn’t she stay for dinner?” “Serene said she didn’t want to disturb us.” “She also said that she’s a magnet for trouble. Not bad, she’s self-aware at least.” Heaton was speechless. Verian smiled as she looked at the flirty man. After dinner, Heaton went to the study to take care of some work. Verian came into the study with some fruit slices. “Are you busy with work recently?” Heaton hugged her as she sat on his lap. He lowered his gaze and stared at her pale little face that had a few fresh freckles due to her pregnancy as he said, “I will be going on a business trip to Old Golden Hills. At first I was worried about leaving due to how close your expected delivery date is but the issue there is a little complicated so I have to go there for a few days.” Verian spoke in an understanding tone, “No worries. There’s still half a month to go till my expected delivery date. Thus, there should be a week left till my expected delivery date by the time you return.” Heaton replied with a simple, “Yeah.” He continued while nodding his head, “I’ll return in five days so you need to take good care of yourself in these couple of days.” “I know. Don’t you worry. Don’t we have Madam Leah at home too?” Heaton reached out to touch her belly before letting out a sigh as he told his unborn child, “Wait for daddy to return.” Verian chuckled and said, “Heaton, since when did you become this long winded?” It was nothing more than a few days on a business trip anyway and besides, it was not even close to her expected delivery date yet and he seemed so worried about her. “My weakness manifested after I had both you and Little Jelly Bean.” Verian’s heart trembled by his single simple reply as she said, “I will take good care of myself and Little Jelly Bean then. I will work extra hard to not become your weakness and worry, okay?” She hugged his neck while sitting on his lap. Her eyes were glimmering brightly while her freckles on her face made her look even more adorable. Heaton then closed his laptop, carried her in his arms and walked out of his study. Verian curiously asked, “Don’t you need to work?” “I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning so tonight, I’ll be keeping Madam Fudd company.” Verian was beaming as she leaned closer into him. … When Heaton was about to leave early the next morning, Verian wanted to send him off but Heaton did not allow her to do so. He merely bent over to gently kiss her forehead. “You can continue sleeping. Don’t need to send me off.” He was trying to not cause the pregnant woman to be overwhelmed by emotions since he did not want her to bawl her eyes out when he left. Verian did not feel like waking up so she continued sleeping for an hour while hugging her covers. When she woke up again, Heaton had already left. However, on the second day of Heaton’s departure, he left her with a surprise. Yannis and Yandel had come over to North City to visit her. Even Xylean came over too. The moment they entered the Fudd family home, Yannis immediately hugged Verian. She missed her dearly. “Riana, how have you been recently? How’s your appetite? You must be really tired from being pregnant, right?” “Mom, my appetite is quite well and I’m not tired. Heaton took excellent care of me.” Yannis spoke with a smile, “I think Heaton is truly amazing. He’s already on a business trip and yet he still remembered to invite us over to keep you company.” Verian was slightly shocked as she said, “Heaton… invited you guys over?” “Yeah, your brother and I wanted to come visit you and Little Jelly Bean. Oh, where is she?” Verian called out, “Jelly Bean, hurry! We have guests. Hurry up and see who came.” Little Jelly Bean ran over with a toy train and the moment she noticed the people in her house, she blinked her huge eyes and stood next to Verian. She then hugged Verian’s skirt and asked, “Monty, who are these people?” The moment Yannis noticed Little Jelly Bean, she absolutely adored her. She immediately came over and hugged Little Jelly Bean in her arms while saying, “Little Jelly Bean, you look absolutely adorable. You’re literally carved from Riana’s appearance! I am your grandma, Jelly Bean.” Little Jelly Bean was quite friendly so she called out to her in a childish voice, “Grandma.” “Oh! How sweet of you Jelly Bean! This is grandma’s first time meeting you and I bought you a little dress. Come on now, open up and see if you like it!” The moment Little Jelly Bean received the gift box her huge eyes were filled with excitement as she asked, “Can I really open it, grandma?” “Sure you can. Come on now, let grandma help you open it.” The moment the gift box was opened, it revealed a little pink dress as Yannis asked, “Do you like it?” Little Jelly Bean was beaming as she said, “I do!” Yandel looked handsome and a child would be more drawn toward a person’s appearance so she walked over and stood next to Yandel’s leg while giving him a serious look. Yandel smiled as he looked down toward the little rascal and said, “Little Jelly Bean, what are you looking at uncle for?” “Uncle, you’re really handsome, you’re as handsome as daddy!” Little Jelly Bean’s serious look made everyone happy! Even Yandel who was usually cold laughed as he bent over and picked Little Jelly Bean up while saying, “That’s some sweet tongue you got there. However, uncle didn’t bring you a gift.” Little Jelly Bean was hugging Yandel’s neck before giving him a kiss on his cheek as she said, “Let me give uncle a kiss!” Verian said while laughing, “Oh brother, it seems like children love you.” Little Jelly Bean then pointed at Xylean as she asked, “Uncle, is that pretty sister your girlfriend?” Xylean was speechless.
