Austin immediately stopped in his tracks. He spun around, his bloodshot eyes boring into her, his face unable to suppress the anger roiling within. "Are you insane?" He lowered his voice to say, "Why did you let her out at a time like this? Do you think we haven't offended Lila and the Cross family thoroughly enough?" Serena walked to face him, her expression calm. "Erin says she has a way out of this." Aaron let out a laugh born of fury, as if he'd heard the joke of the century. "She has a way out? Her best bet is to stop showing up to stir trouble!" Serena lifted her gaze, quietly taking in his rage-twisted face. "She said she can earn Lila's forgiveness and connect the Harts to Professor Anderson." The study fell into silence. The anger and mockery on Austin's face gradually froze, finally turning into an absurd, stunned disbelief. Have Erin ask for Lila's forgiveness? How was that even possible? Erin was probably the person Lila hated most. That said, they had no other
