Chapter 76
Before I said anything, Opal' phone rang.
He picked up the phone, and his tone became soft. "Odette."
It was Odette. No wonder his attitude changed all of a sudden.
After a while, Opal hung up the phone. He walked to me. "Do you know what your scandal with Jason is awful?"
"I know, but it is fake. I don't care. Moreover, your home is not mine."
I stuck out my tongue. "Odette and the others don't like me. I am unhappy at your place."
Not to mention Odette, even Opal didn't like me that much.
Thanks to the preference from Jacques, I had a good time at this gathering.
After that, I got on the Maybach.
Carroll, in the back seat, looked at me with a long face.
"Done with your coquetry?" Carroll asked.
"Coquetry?" I was confused.
"I didn't know that you liked musclemen." Carroll sounded unpleasant.
I raised my hand and poked the muscles in his chest. "Well, you're right. I do like musclemen."
Instantly, the gloom on his face disappeared.
"You are smelly. The smell of sweat. Go home and take a shower."
Carroll pushed me aside and focused on the numbers on the tablet.
I didn't understand those figures. However, I felt that those colorful figures would hurt his eyes.
By the way, the muscleman Carroll had said must be Jacques.
Indeed, Jacques was strong. He was over six feet tall and had strong shoulders. It was very easy for him to lift me up.
Back at home, I put on comfortable pajamas after a shower.
This set of pajamas was new from the store.
Well, its style..
From the look in Carroll's eyes, I could tell that it didn't look good.
Carroll was looking at me as if I was a monster, and there was contempt in his eyes.
I turned a circle, raised my head, and asked, "Is it ugly?"
"What do you think?" Carroll pushed me to a mirror.
There were colorful dinosaurs on the pajamas, so they did look childish.
"Well..."
In the mirror, I, wearing childish pajamas and a ponytail, looked like a child.
"Kelly, I can't trust your taste in fashion."
Carroll tugged at my dinosaur hood and shook his head.
"Not my choice. It is a gift from that store where you bought a lot of stuff."
Pouting, I ran to the cloarkroom to rummage through my clothes.
However, Carroll pulled me back by the collar. "Tell Jason to make your case clear tomorrow. No more children's clothing."
Children's clothing...
I was speechless.
What an insult!
I stuck my chest out and said with dissatisfaction, "I don't look like a child. I'm a woman!"
Carroll looked away after one glance at me. "Kelly, can't you stop seducing men with that innocent look?"
Angry, I went to my bed. "I didn't seduce you. I was just stating a fact!"
"Kid, go to bed. I have two multinational meetings to attend."
Speaking, Carroll left a kiss on my forehead.
"Go, go ahead." I was so sleepy that I yawned.
"Don't wear these pajamas anymore, or others will consider me a freak."
After saying that, Carroll left the bedroom.
"Aren't you?"
I muttered with dissatisfaction and then pursed my lips.
Lying on the bed, I was sleepless. Therefore, I checked my Facebook.
After the gathering, Jacques posted a photo of him and me with the sentence. "I finally found my little sister, who has been lost for twenty years."
Just now, Odette posted a message. "I am unqualified."
Alas, what a scheming bit*h!
Odette played a trick after learning that Opal had dined with me.
I remembered a line from the costume drama I watched not long ago. "Am I unqualified?"
This line suited the resentful Odette well.
Then, I received a message.
It was from Jessica's assistant, Susan.
Jessica invited me to the studio tomorrow as she wanted me to join her team.
I thought for a moment and then said, "Okay."
Jessica, Jessica.
I wondered how Granny Luisa was now.
What would Jessica do if she found Granny Luisa in Phoenix Village?
It occurred to me that nobody, except for Granny Luisa, was willing to chat with me back in Phoenix Village.
Granny Luisa showed me kindness and taught me embroidery.
Thinking, I gradually fell asleep.
When I woke up, the garden was noisy.
Several doctors in white coats stood there and helplessly looked at Wolfie, who was baring its teeth in the corner.
I quickly got changed and went downstairs.
At the sight of me, Carroll said to the doctor next to him, "Well, since Wolfie's favorite person is here, you can do the check-up."
"Does Wolfie like this girl? Mr. Carroll, with all respect, Wolfie is a fierce wolf, very dangerous."
The doctor explained to Carroll with a very serious expression.
As for me, I had stopped by Wolfie. Instantly, it lay on the lawn with its four legs upward, waiting for me to scratch its belly.
"Well..." The doctor looked surprised. After a slight push to the glasses on the bridge of his nose, he said, "Girl, aren't you afraid of wolves?"
"Doctor, Wolfie is a good girl. Please come to do the checkup."
Speaking, I patted Wolfie's big head. "Be cooperative, or you won't have the roasted lamb."
Wolfie whimpered, withdrew its sharp claws, and lay by the doctor obediently.
"Wolfie?" The doctor glanced at me. "Girl, did you change her name?"
"Well, yes. It is Wolfie now."
Then, I learned that Carroll brought Wolfie home after it fell off the cliff.
Now Wolfie was fine and needed to go back to the mountain.
It did not belong to this small garden, but the spacious mountains and forests.
I embraced Wolfie with sadness. "Stay away from the hunters, or they'll kill you for your beautiful fur."
Carroll patted me on the head dotingly. "There are no hunters. That mountain is mine. If you miss it, go see it whenever you want."
Well...
I read a line in a romance novel a few days ago. "I bought this fish pond for you."
Carroll didn't buy me a fish pond, but he had beaches and mountains.
I was more fortunate than that female lead.
I raised my head and asked, "Did you read the romance novels?"
"What novels?"
Carroll was confused.
I cleared my throat and waved my hand. "Woman, this forest is yours now."
