DOMINIC’S POV
“I-I dropped the kids,” I said, my voice rough. “And I… I just wanted to talk.”
I stood there, jaw clenched so tightly my teeth ached. My wolf was pacing, growling low in the back of my mind.
This was a mistake, he warned again.
But I wasn’t listening.
“Really?” she said, dismounting smoothly. “You followed me here—to talk?”
Her tone was cool. Detached. Too detached. She was clearly unimpressed by my sudden, uninvited appearance.
“This isn’t your territory anymore, Dominic,” she added, her eyes fierce. “Not when it comes to my life, we can talk somewhere else and some other time.”
Each word was a dagger, but I deserved them.
I opened my mouth to respond when Derek stepped in—quite literally.
He moved to stand between us, protective, steady, the damn perfect gentleman. His hand gently brushed Olivia’s back as he spoke. “Olivia, do you want me to handle this?”
Handle this? Like I was some rogue on his land?
