OLIVIA’S POV
A date.
Was this really his way of apologizing?
Even though I knew Dominic was only doing all this because of Evelyn—perhaps to ease his own guilt or silence his wolf—I still couldn’t stop a tiny flicker of anticipation from igniting in my chest.
It was pathetic.
But I couldn’t help it.
I still loved him.
He was my first love, the man I had spent five years of my life with, the father of my child. No matter how much pain he had inflicted on me, my foolish heart still craved even the smallest scraps of his affection.
And now, here we were.
As we entered the restaurant, I felt an odd sense of surrealism. Was I really on a date with him?
Everything was arranged perfectly—the soft glow of candlelight, the faint hum of romantic music in the background, the delicate floral arrangements adorning our table. It was the kind of evening I had once dreamed of sharing with Dominic.
But never had I expected him to be the one to make it happen.
