Chapter 119
Half a month flew by in the blink of an eye.
As usual, Abigail left the house for work. Just as she stepped outside, she ran into Samuel, who was waiting in his car.
"Samuel?"
"Yeah. Hop in. I've got something to take care of nearby, so I'll drop you off on the way."
His tone left no room for argument.
She figured that she might as well accept the free ride, so she didn't hesitate to slide into the seat next to him.
As the car pulled away, she started chatting. "Samuel, has everything been going smoothly for you lately?"
Even though they lived under the same roof, she hadn't seen much of Samuel these past couple of weeks.
"Why do you ask?" He looked genuinely puzzled.
Life hadn't been any different for him lately, yet she had asked, her brows furrowed, clearly concerned. He couldn't figure out what had made her feel that something was off.
"Oh, nothing. It just feels like you've been busy lately. I hardly see you at home."
He let out a helpless sigh and cleared his throat.
