Chapter 151
Haley’s POV:
The hospital smelled like disinfectant and something sharp that clung to the air. I held Lily’s small hand in mine as we walked down the polished corridor. Her steps were light, almost skipping, and her excitement made me smile despite the heaviness inside my chest.
“Mommy, will Grandma be better now?” Lily asked, looking up at me with wide hopeful eyes.
“Yes, sweetheart,” I said softly. “The doctors are taking care of her. She’s getting better.”
Logan walked beside us, his hands in his pockets, his jaw tense. He looked relieved but still worried, the kind of worry that doesn’t fade easily.
Lily tugged at his sleeve. “Daddy, can I give her my cards today? I made so many!”
Logan finally smiled, a small one. He brushed her hair lovingly. “Yes, you can. She’ll be very happy to see them.”
But I noticed the way his eyes kept darting toward me. There was something in his gaze that made my chest tighten.
I stopped walking. “Logan?”
He turned. “Hmm?”
“You’re worried,” I said quiet
