Harry had been watching Catherine's place for a long time. A half-finished glass of red wine sat by his hand. When the lights in the living room finally went out, he assumed she'd gone to bed and started getting ready to turn in himself. He picked up the remaining wine, intending to finish it in one go, but as he stood up, he noticed a faint white glow flicker on in the room across from him. Had Catherine gone back to work again? The lighting was too dim for him to see clearly who it was. The computer screen went dark again immediately. It looked like she'd just had something urgent to deal with. He didn't think much of it.
