Chapter 1451

Solomon did not stay long at Royal View Villa. He said he had things to attend to and left before lunch. After leaving the villa, Solomon drove to the television station. He parked his car downstairs, took out his phone, and called Ines. It took several rings before she picked up. "Hello." "I'm outside your company. Let's have lunch together." Ines, who worked at the television station as a program editor, responded indifferently over the phone, "Not today. I'm quite busy." Solomon raised an eyebrow, glanced at the office building across the street, and smirked. "Even if you're busy, you still need to eat. I'll feel sorry for you if you starve." "I have a meeting in the afternoon. I’ll grab something in the cafeteria for lunch." Solomon frowned, about to say something, but Ines interrupted. "That's it. I have to go." Before Solomon could respond, she hung up. He looked at the disconnected call, a barely noticeable furrow appearing on his brow. She got some nerve hanging up on him like that. He wondered how busy she was. Solomon got out of the car and headed straight for the television station. In the Editor's office. After hanging up the phone, Ines stared at her phone for a while, then finally placed it on the desk. She then picked up some documents before heading to the director's office. "Director Shawn, these two documents need your signature." Shawn Chain, a senior figure at the television station nearing retirement age, tall and slender with half his hair turned white, greeted her, "Ines, you're here. Just leave the documents here and have a seat. I need to talk to you." Ines sat down on the chair, smiling. "Director Shawn, there's no need to be so formal. What's up?" Shawn smiled and said, "The ratings for the program your team planned last time were very high. The station's team leader even called in to praise it. Keep up the good work." "It's all thanks to your excellent guidance and everyone's hard work. We'll keep pushing forward." Ines smiled modestly, acknowledging Shawn's support. When she first joined the company, Shawn helped her a lot and taught her a great deal. Her promotion to program editor was due not only to her own abilities but also to Shawn's mentorship. Shawn said meaningfully, "Work hard, but also remember to enjoy life." After a pause, he continued, "Ines, you're single, aren't you?" Ines was momentarily surprised, but she was unsure where this was leading. She smiled. "Yes, for now, I just want to focus on my career, nothing else." Shawn sipped tea and chuckled. "That won't do. You can't let work completely take over your life. While you're young, you should date more. Work is never-ending." Ines laughed jokingly. "Director Shawn, are you trying to play matchmaker?" Shawn immediately replied, "Ines, you're absolutely right!" Ines's smile froze for a moment, and then she heard Shawn say, "I have a nephew who's a lawyer who just returned from studying abroad. You should have met him last week during the company outing when he helped me deliver something. Do you remember him?" Ines tried to recall the encounter, vaguely. She had briefly met Shawn's nephew during the company outing, but they had not exchanged many words. She did not understand why Shawn wanted to set them up. Ines remembered but did not want to say anything. She awkwardly smiled. "I have a bad memory; I forgot." "It's okay. You'll have a chance to meet him again. You two should get to know each other better. He's three years older than you, and you should have plenty of common topics. "Ines, it's not just me boasting; my nephew is really outstanding. He's an only child in the family who just returned and started his own law firm. He's already quite famous in the legal circle at such a young age. He's good-looking and has a good personality. His parents are also very kind, and the family atmosphere is very good."
