Chapter 1447

Kyle had brought Zoe to the hospital for a prenatal check-up in the morning. Since the results would only be available until later the same afternoon, they waited in the hospital lounge after the check-up was complete. They had lunch in the hospital as well. Knowing that Blair had been discharged from the hospital today, they decided to pay a visit to the villa after obtaining the test results in the afternoon. “Blair, Mable." Kyle greeted the couple. Zoe addressed Blair with a beaming smile, “Blair, it’s good to see that you’re still alive.” Blair nodded with a pleasant smile and ordered for tea to be served. “Zoe, how are you doing?” Mable held Zoe's hand and sat down on the couch before turning to Kyle to enquire equally, “Did you bring her for a prenatal check-up today? What did the doctor say?” Kyle stated, “The baby is only a little underweight but otherwise largely healthy.” Zoe sighed while fondling her bulging belly. She remarked with a hint of concern, “I feel like all the food I’ve been adding lately has gone to my body instead of to the baby.” Kyle, who was seated on the other side of Zoe, held her hand tenderly, “The doctor assured us it’s not an issue. Don’t worry about it.” Mable comforted Zoe as well, “Yes, there’s nothing to worry about since all the other readings are fine. When I gave birth to Spike, he was born prematurely and weighed less than nine pounds, but look, he’s a healthy boy. I’m sure your baby will be fine as well.” Blair cast an anguished look at Mable upon hearing this. He was not with her when Spike and Lemon were born... Zoe felt a little at ease upon hearing this. “When is the baby due?” Blair asked. Kyle answered, “Mid-November.” Lemon stared at Zoe's belly with a burning curiosity in her eyes. “Aunt Zoe, can I touch, please? He’s going to be my friend.” “Sure.” Zoe took Lemon's hand and pressed it against her belly. Kyle teased Lemon, “Lemon, what if it’s a girl instead of a boy?” “A girl?” Lemon seemed humorously flustered by the suggestion and remarked wryly, “Fine, I can share my toys with her, too. I’m sure she will like them.” Kyle smiled and gently caressed Lemon's cheeks. “In that case, I’ll have to thank you for her.” They sat in the living room and chatted for a while. Then, Blair implored them to stay for dinner. Mable took Zoe to the garden to continue their conversation while Blair and Kyle went to the study upstairs instead. Inside the study. “I got in touch with Rahman. Since he knows Mable, I figured it would be wise to approach him. I haven’t told him about you, so he assumed that it was a plan drawn up by us and Mable to get revenge for you…” Kyle relayed the recent events to Blair. After he was done, Blair nodded. “Let Solomon and Arthur handle the rest. Zoe is about to give birth, and you should focus your attention on her.” He figured it would be quite unreasonable to trouble Kyle with going to Monafett at a time like this. “I got it.” Kyle did not protest the suggestion. He had faith in Solomon and Arthur’s abilities. Blair then asked, “How has Jeremiah been?” Kyle remarked calmly, “The usual. We haven’t been doing much with him yet.” Part of it was out of respect for Mable. Previously, Mable had used Eugenie as a tool to threaten him and managed to squeeze a lot of useful information. So, Kyle figured there was no need to extort more out of him. However, whether or not they should release him was Blair’s call. Suddenly, Kyle mentioned, “He asked me on two separate occasions that he wanted to see Mable.” Blair’s expression suddenly darkened. How dare Jeremiah still have the nerve to ask to see Mable! After a long silence, he finally spoke, “You can talk to Mabes about it.” Kyle was a little taken aback by this. “I was under the impression that you would forbid her from meeting any members of the Mullers.”
