Callum said gently, “Trenton regrets what he said too. Give him some time, Camryn. He’ll grow up and start to understand you.”
Trenton’s parents and sister had gone to jail partly because of Camryn. It was normal for him to find it difficult to accept the truth. After all, he was only seventeen years old. He had not been weathered by society and was not capable of processing so much shock.
Camryn did not say a word.
Callum accompanied her on a stroll around the garden. Camryn’s mood improved greatly as they walked on the shaded path with the cool breeze caressing them and listened to the passers-by chatting.
She felt upset but did not harbor resentment toward her brother.
