Chapter 81 51: Royal Diety
"Hamma Mujaheed?" She asked with a weak voice, she didn't want this to not be true, she might not have her hopes raised high, but this will be everything for her if it turned out to be true.
"You guessed right, Kulthum am!" Mujaheed said excitedly and in a second, she screamed at the same time burst into tears.
"Daada! Is that his voice I'm hearing? Daada please make this become true! Ya Allah!" She was crying so hard and all their eyes filled with tears at the both joy and agony in her tone.
"I'm the one, Kulthum, It's me. How have you been?" He asked with tears accumulating in his eyes and they all waited to hear her reaction because she was the most dramatic person they had ever seen.
"How can you ask how I've been? Hamma Mujaheed how can you do that to us?! Daada, stop talking to him, don't even act as if you've known him. I won't talk to him either, I'll be coming tomorrow to see how you're doing, Daada, okay? I love you, Daada, hang on there before I arrive tomorrow, don't talk to him." She was crying bitterly and she immediately ended the call. Both Mujaheed and Daada cried with laughter on their lips.
Daada turned to Fareeda with a sad smile on his lips, "Elle a toujours été aussi dramatique. Toutes ces belles paroles sont pour lui, je suis s?r qu'elle viendra le voir. Que je t'aime, c'est aussi pour lui, n'est-ce pas, Mujaheed? (She has always been this dramatic. All these sweet words are for him, I'm sure she's coming over to see him. That I love you is for him as well, aren't I right, Mujaheed?)"
"J'ai h?te de la rencontrer, elle est belle. Et Mujaheed dit qu'elle a mon ?ge. (I can't wait to meet her, I'm sure she's lovely. And Mujaheed said she's my age.)" That was how their conversation lightly turned to Kulthum and they ended up telling her all about Kulthum, their childhood and what she used to be. She loved Daada immediately, because he was the most amazing king she had ever seen in her life.
It was when the nurse came and told them that he needed his afternoon rest until they left him and Muhaseen had to cry terribly when they were leaving him. They were about to leave the chamber when Fareeda saw a lady coming toward them in fast strides and she fell onto Mujaheed's chest, giggling happily.
"Hamma Mujaheed! I just heard you're back and when I went to your chamber they told me you're here. I've missed you so much, Hamma Mujaheed!" She was talking in a voice that spoke how much she had missed him even though Fareeda couldn't understand what she was saying.
Mujaheed peeled her from his body and stared at her face, "Mairamou, what are you doing?" He asked, and Fareeda might not hear what he had said, but she knew he called her Mairamou and she was aware of him saying that Mairamou used to be in love with him. And Fareeda knew when a lady was in love, because she used to be in love as well.
Mairamou didn't even notice her, "Hamma Mujaheed, I'm just glad you're back. Didn't you miss me?" Tears pooled the bring of her eyes and Mujaheed shook his head.
"Why are you crying then? Why don't you greet my wife? Here, I have a baby as well, her name is Muhaseen. Kulthum is coming back tomorrow." All this revelation was too much for her heart and she weakly turned to look at Fareeda that had Muhaseen cradled on her chest while she stared at them with nothing but sheer jealousy in her eyes.
"Your wife? You got married?" She asked, unsure of what she had seen even though the baby she was holding was enough evidence.
Mujaheed was aware of the look Fareeda was flashing at them and he knew she was even more confused because she couldn't understand what they were talking about. So when he was about to speak again, he spoke in French. "Ne lei parle pas Fulani, Elle ne comprend pas ?a. Je me sis marié avec Elle, tu ne vois pas Notre bébé? (Don't speak Fulani to her, she doesn't understand that. I got married to her, can't you see our baby?)" he smiled widely as he collected Muhaseen from a stupefied Fareeda's hold and handed her to Mairamou, which Fareeda was so sure it was the only will of Allah that kept Muhaseen in those weak arms.
...
Fareeda watched as her expression changed before she turned to look at her. She knew hatred when she saw one and right now, in their first meeting, Fareeda knew this girl hated her. She watched as she held Muhaseen with nothing but distaste in her eyes, she was even at the verge of breaking into tears. She looked up and met both Mujaheed and Fareeda's gaze fixed on her and that was when she knew to act well.
"Bonjour. j'espére que tu es bien arrivé? (Good afternoon. I hope you arrived safely?)" she asked with a voice that nearly gave away her irritation and disgusting of the situation they were in. Fareeda calmly smiled and collected Muhaseen from her before she greeted her back and she looked up at Mujaheed.
"Will you assign someone to take me back to our chamber? I'll be there before you're done." Her eyes involuntarily wavered back to Mairamou, and how she was looking at him with an expression that screamed, 'I can't believe you've done this to me'. Fareeda knew that if anything, they deserved to give them some time alone, and that was what she was planning to do even though it would pain a lot. But she knew how to respect herself in situations now.
He shook his head at her, "We're going to Baffah's chamber from here." His eyes smoothly went back to Mairamou and he spoke, "We'll come to your chamber as well. If you're going to see Daada, we'll take our leave then." He took Fareeda's wrist and they walked away.
Fareeda looked back for a second and she was sure Mairamou's eyes hadn't left and if her eyes were healthy, she could say she sure she had seen tears on her cheeks as well. "Is that the Mairamou you told me that loves you?" She couldn't help but ask, because she eventhugh she knew she was the one, Fareeda wanted to make sure.
"Yes, she is. Any problem?" He asked carelessly as he turned back but Mairamou wasn't standing where they left her anymore, and Mujaheed knew it was hardly for her to go and greet Daada. She must've left to her parent's chamber, maybe to report what had happened.
Fareeda silently shook her head with a sad smile, even though she didn't want that to happen, she can sense pain coming over to her though that girl. Because what she saw in her eyes was so fierce that she knew she wouldn't have to give up without trying at all. "Nothing happened. But I'm sure she still loves you, and the look she was flashing me was 'how dare you steal my man?' Or was she the one you spoke about? That wifey thing?" Even though there was a laughter on her eyes, when Mujaheed looked into her eyes he knew there wasn't that humor in her heart. She was feeling uneasy, wanting to cry even because her innocent heart had imagined danger.
He wrapped his hand around her back and brought her closer to him, "How can that be? It has been five years since I left this place, she would be a nuisance if she stayed in love with me, don't you think? What if I don't come back? What if I died where I went to?" Fareeda softly elbowed him and he dramatically yelped.
"I know a lady that's in love when I see one, and that girl is surely in love with you, Mujaheed. But we can wait and see. Ya Allah, is it this far? How can you have this vast palace? I have never been to a palace in my life, but I could tell that there are only a few palaces that can compare to this big palace of yours, Mujaheed." At some point, it still felt unreal to her that Mujaheed was actually the one that was now a prince, it was hard to wrap her hands around this
He immediately collected Muhaseen from her while muttering, "Sorry, I'll call the driver now." And before she got a chance to ask him not to, the car was already by their side.
She looked at how tenderly he was treating her, how carefully he made sure she was seated in the car before he got in. And when he sat down by her side with Muhaseen looking at them both from his laps, Fareeda smiled and rested her head on his arm, "You shouldn't have called the driver, Mujaheed. We would've managed, I wasn't even complaining. Just pointing out a fact that I know you clearly know because you were born in this palace. You don't have to show me all your powers, I know you have hidden powers even before I know you were a prince."
He chuckled and fondled her head lovingly, "You deserve the best, and if you think the distance is far, then we can take a helicopter if that's what you like. Everything to please her royal highness." She chuckled and shook her head.
"That's not my name, I'm Fareeda Kamal Sardauna, not some royal deity." The word royalty had never sounded pleasing to her ears, like she had never even wondered about what happened in royal houses or how they lived because she thought she would never have a connection with them in one way or the other. But because god is the greatest planner, she got married to a crown prince disguised as a gateman.
"You're royalty too because you got married to most loveliest prince that has ever been born." She immediately shook her head, lifting up to face him with something near to a pout on her lips.
"My son hasn't been born yet, how do you know you're the loveliest prince that has ever been born? I get this, that's why at times you feel so full of yourself. So, congratulations, your highness, but that title has been taken away from you and will be given to my unborn little angel." She playfully rolled her eyes at him and Mujaheed threw his head back and laughed. But at some point, she was right.
"You're right." He immediately stopped what he was trying to say, "Wait, Fareeda are you pregnant already?" Her eyes bulged out as though a saucer and she immediately swatted his hand away that was now on her stomach.
"What do you mean?" She whined and slightly tapped her stomach to see if it would make any sound as if the baby will reveal itself if there was. "How could I be pregnant? Muhaseen is just three months old, Mujaheed. You wouldn't even want a baby in the next three to four years now, right?" A pout had painted itself on her lips and Mujaheed found that amusing as he chuckled at the way she looked.
"What are you trying to say? I should wait until the next three to four years for another baby? Probably a prince? Fareeda I'm not that decent, I might get you pregnant tonight if I want to." Her head immediately jerked to look at the driver before her bulgy eyes turned to him and the next thing he felt was a strong punch on his arm.
"What do you think you're doing, Mujaheed?! Ya Allah, how could you say that outwardly when your driver is here?!" She whispered and palmed her forehead exasperatedly. It looked to her she acted more royal than him at some point because which prince will do what he did just now for the sake of Allah.
