Kathleen's cheerful mood had evaporated after just 30 minutes, and now her irritation was building again. She didn't want him to know she had been waiting, so she said, "I've already eaten." A silence followed from the other end of the line. "Okay," Shawn replied. Upon hearing this, Kathleen immediately hung up the phone. If it weren't her own, she might have thrown it. She thought, "That infuriating man! Did he think he could just play with her emotions like that?" Kathleen stood up and took a few deep breaths to regain her composure. Still feeling annoyed, she had initially planned to grab a bowl of noodles and return to the office. However, going back too soon would be awkward since she had told her coworkers she had a meeting. After thinking it over, she decided to call Chelsey to see if she had eaten lunch yet. By chance, Chelsey hadn't eaten yet and happened to be near her workplace. She and her colleague decided to meet up, and Chelsey glanced at the restaurant.
