Julian gave her a few last reminders before walking off, clearly still worried.
Anna stared at the black card in her hand for a second like it was some rare treasure, then sighed and shoved it into her bag with a grimace.
There was no way she'd dare actually spend Julian's money — who knows what kind of strings might be attached?
She had no plans to use the card, but killing time while waiting around was driving her bored out of her mind. So, she drifted into the clothing store next door to browse around.
The store was pretty empty at this time of day. A handful of clothes were displayed neatly on the racks under bright lights. The salesgirls hung around with little interest, whispering among themselves.
When Anna walked in, clearly a stranger, they barely glanced over before going back to their own thing.
Anna didn't take it personally — she was just browsing anyway.
And actually, after walking around a bit, she really did spot a dress that stood out: simple black and white, clean cut
