Chapter 264
Sophia's words came out sharp and fast, pure anger driving her without a second thought. Only when she saw Adrian's face turn pale in an instant did she realize she might've gone too far.
"Adrian, I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said," she murmured, the regret hitting her hard. Panicked, she rushed over to try and explain but only ended up fumbling, making it worse.
"I'm fine. Honestly, you were right. Why would I blame you?"
Adrian's voice was calm, but his eyes were distant as he stared out the hallway window. He seemed cold, like something inside him had just frozen solid.

That day had really wiped Anna out. She was so beat she didn't even bother showering—just flopped onto the bed all sticky and gross.
Half-asleep, she thought she caught a weird vibe from Sophia earlier.
Wasn't Sam supposed to confess to her today? How'd she end up standing next to Adrian instead?
But with her short memory, the thought barely stuck. She zonked out in seconds, never imagining things would blow up
