"Yeah, I drank. I feel awful. Everyone says drinking helps drown your sorrows, but even after drinking, I still feel terrible."
I lay sprawled over the coffee table, phone in hand, rambling incoherently.
The person on the other end stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Why don't you tell me about it? Talking might help you feel better."

Dazed and half-conscious, I began pouring out the entire story of my relationship with Dominic Hawthorne into the phone.
