They searched Whispering Pines thoroughly, and Sophia was exhausted, but there was no sign of Zackary. "I wasn't lying, Zackary is really missing!" Sophia sat on the sofa, looking innocent and sincere. Tina stood nearby with her arms crossed, her expression turning serious.
Zackary staying at Whispering Pines was supposed to be the safest option. The Reed family had a professional security system, and it was close enough to Tina that any issue would be quickly noticed. Yet, Zackary had disappeared without a trace.
As Tina pondered the situation, her phone rang. She looked at it; it was an unknown number. "Hello," she answered, putting the phone to her ear. A harsh, distorted voice spoke, "Miss Reed, don't bother looking. Your little brother is with us now."
"I won't waste words. If you want him alive, gather one hundred million dollars in cash immediately!" Tina raised an eyebrow and agreed without hesitation, "Okay."
