Chapter 1143
Meanwhile, Wilbur was in Demi's manor.
He casually sat by the stream and soaked his legs as he swayed on a rocking chair.
Sophie served him and did not leave her side.
Wilbur asked her to rest multiple times, but she did not listen, so he decided to let her be.
Soon, they saw Shepard walk in with Kevin.
Shepard walked up to Wilbur and bowed. He said, "Sir, I brought back Vedomadder and the Tiger War Amulet."
Wilbur nodded and looked at Kevin behind Shepard.
Kevin was carrying a small luggage. He knelt on the ground and lifted the luggage above his head. "Here's the Tiger War Amulet, sir. Please spare my life."
Kevin did not know who Wilbur was.
He did not know why he wanted the Tiger War Amulet.
However, he knew that he had better beg for his life.
Otherwise, he would be digging his own grave if they decided to kill him.
Wilbur grabbed the luggage.
He opened it and saw a bronze tiger-shaped amulet. It looked historical.
There was some sort of energy contained in the amulet.
It was a ferocious energy. Wilbur could feel how fierce it was when he inspected it with his spirit energy.
He sighed.
It was a good item, an intermediate contribution.
However, he could not keep the item to himself. He had to pass it to Orin.
It was the treasure of Kardon Province, after all. It was a national treasure, so he could not be selfish.
Wilbur put the Tiger War Amulet away carefully and placed the luggage next to him. He started to observe Kevin.
There was no spiritual pressure, but Kevin felt like he was being observed by a ferocious beast. He had goosebumps all over.
Wilbur snapped his fingers, and a silver flame instantly burrowed into Kevin's forehead.
Kevin immediately felt dizzy.
Wilbur said nonchalantly, "You should go to Seechertown and look for the chief of the special agents' squad, Elsa Janae. Tell her I will bring the Tiger War Amulet back myself. You can run if you want, but it's at your own risk."
The ball of silver light almost scared Kevin to death.
He was only an Ambience level cultivator, but he knew that he was either cursed or placed under some spell.
Moreover, it was a spell related to the soul, the most fragile part of a human.
Kevin was extremely terrified. He wanted to say something, but he heard a voice outside, "Sir, we're here to see you."
"Come in," replied Wilbur nonchalantly.
Demi, Bayer, Grant, and Nora walked in. They bowed in front of Wilbur.
Kevin was caught off guard.
He knew those four people. They were the heirs of the real bigshots in North Manand.
He wondered why they were so respectful towards Wilbur. He wondered what the hell was happening.
"What is it?" asked Wilbur while looking at them.
Demi bowed and replied, "Sir, after days of preparations, we captured all the leaders running the industrial parks scams and the criminal ring locations. We also released the victims. They are in contact with Seechertown, and they're about to be picked up at the borders."
"Good job." Wilbur nodded.
Kevin finally realized something.
He did not know what happened specifically.
However, he knew for sure that the changes in North Manand occurred because of Wilbur.
"Sir, they're outside. Should we bring them in now?" asked Demi in a careful way.
Wilbur leaned on his rocking chair and splashed the water with his feet. He said slowly, "Let them in. They are so evil that they would harm their kin. I would like to know what these people look like."
