Chapter 3007
Inside the Eliza Sect, an early-stage true immortal elder was overcome with shock when he witnessed their founder's bloodied face.
"Eliza is injured! How is this even possible?"
Terror began to grip the Eliza Sect's practitioners as they realized that their ancestor was facing an unexpected and unprecedented defeat. Many of the age-old practitioners within the sect had lived for tens of thousands of years, yet that was their first time witnessing such an occasion! Everyone was shocked.
It was unimaginable to think that an ancient true immortal like Eliza would be at a disadvantage against a true immortal. The Eliza Sect's reputation as one of the top five powers in the devil realm rested on the might of their Eliza, who had up until then succeeded in suppressing all his enemies.
The true immortal elder's horrified exclamation did not sit well with one of the perfect-stage half-immortal elders from the Eliza Sect. The latter had a fanatical admiration for Eliza, and he shook his head before saying, "Do not doubt our founder's invincibility! It's clear that he is simply pretending to be weak! He will defeat that intruder in less than a hundred moves! I am sure of it!"
The true immortal elder snapped to his senses and nodded vigorously. "You're right! A late-stage true immortal is no match for him! We need only wait for our founder to secure victory!"
High above them, Eliza's expression contorted with rage. Licking the blood from his lips, he felt turbulent waves of shock coursing through his heart while horror began to seep into his eyes.
After several exchanges with Severin, he found himself quickly losing the upper hand and sustaining unprecedented injuries. Even more baffling to him was Severin's monstrous resilience and surging power that rivalled that of a quasi-royal celestial. Severin's mastery of the space-time path and possession of the celestial weapon was already shocking enough—the scalp-numbing combat prowess that Severin displayed only made the situation more dire.
Without any further thought, he immediately abandoned his plan to seize the treasure from Severin and uncover Severin's secrets. He began to retreat and shifted to a defensive stance.
Severin, however, saw through Eliza's intentions. He was not prepared to let Eliza escape, as his main goal in venturing into the Devil Realm was to eliminate Eliza and prevent further crises from happening on Earth.
He was unable to stay in the Skyblue Sect for long and needed to return to Bleurealm after resolving matters. After all, he had to lead the Longevity Alliance to prepare for the realm convergence.
With that resolve, Severin's mana intensified and he executed a flurry of all the techniques at his disposal! An array of techniques surged forth and bombarded Eliza relentlessly, and the ensuing impact left Eliza looking much worse for wear.
At that point in the battle, Eliza lamented his misfortune in facing such a formidable opponent. His previously indomitable strength wavered and cracks appeared in his Ultimate Sublimation.
Seizing the brief period in which Severin was preparing to unleash his powers, Eliza conceded defeat. "My friend, I concede! I am willing to compensate for all the damage my men have done. Will that be agreeable for you?"
Eliza has survived since ancient times due to his adaptability to certain situations. He knew when it was time to negotiate, when to relent, and when to be ruthless. Such was the strategy that ensured his survival against the extraterrestrial forces who had occupied the Devil Realm. Knowing that he could not defeat Severin, Eliza chose to admit defeat. Saving his life took precedence over all else, and the settling of scores could wait.
"I refuse," Severin answered curtly.
Having exhausted all his trump cards, Severin knew that he had to kill Eliza there and then. Allowing him to recover would risk exposing Earth's secrets to the royal celestial of the Devil Realm, and the consequences would be nigh difficult to overcome then. Only by eliminating Eliza would he be able to safeguard Earth's secrets.
"I showed you courtesy, but you refused it outright. If you kill me here, royal celestials like King Luther will come for you eventually. If I were you, I'd accept the offer and return to that small world," Eliza warned Severin sternly after seeing Severin's ungrateful response.
