Chapter 134
Emma heard the sudden commotion downstairs and, driven by curiosity, decided to check it out. Just one glance, and she spotted Ethan among the crowd—still that magnetic presence, easily the center of attention wherever he went. Then she noticed Claire clinging to his arm, wearing that sugary smile. That smile hit Emma like a punch to the gut—she froze, eyes locked on the lively crowd below.
Ethan glanced around the lobby, seemingly searching for someone. Not spotting who he was looking for, he lifted his head, scanning the upper floors.
The moment Emma realized his gaze was shifting her way, she bolted, disappearing in a flash. Out on the deck, she let the cold ocean wind whip her face, not caring how sharp the chill was.
After what felt like forever, she finally gathered herself. Exiting from the other end of the deck, she didn't bother with the party anymore—whatever was happening inside didn't matter. She quietly stepped off the yacht.
"Hey, Max, come out—we're leaving."
