Before she could finish, Johnny gently patted her shoulder. His voice was soft and warm, perfectly tuned. "For me, this is barely enough, Nancy. Everyone's waiting for you. You should head back now."

Feeling a little helpless, Nancy turned around, only to bump into a solid chest. Rubbing her nose and frowning, she looked up to see a face so striking that it seemed almost divinely sculpted.
Gideon's dark, narrow eyes held a teasing glint, and his sharp, perfectly sculpted features made him irresistibly handsome. "Is he pursuing you?"
When he spoke, a faint curve tugged at the corners of his mouth, yet the air around him seemed to grow heavy and cold.
"Something like that," Nancy replied vaguely.
