Ruby could not stand it anymore. She breathed heavily and felt her wrenched in pain as she watched Faye being slapped! “Good job. Should you have done this earlier, you won’t be put in so much pain anymore, right? Hah-hah!” said Miles while laughing aloud. He was as rampant as he could be. “Don’t, Mom! Don’t call Zayn, I’m begging you!” said Faye immediately in an agitated tone. Skye said sarcastically, “Yikes, Fifi. I couldn’t tell that you’re so passionately devoted to Zayn huh. You’re still defending Zayn at this point, tsk tsk, I really envy you!” Ruby said, “I’m going to call up Zayn now and make him come over. Don’t ever hit my daughter again, I’m begging you.” She grumbled as she took out her phone from her pocket and she was about to dial Zayn’s number. Faye screamed aloud most vehemently and she was almost hysterical. “Mom! I’m begging you not to call up Zayn. He’s going to get killed, boo-hoo…” She cried so piteously while her tears had already stained her face. The sight of her was heartbreaking. Yet, there was utterly no one else to sympathize with her other than Ruby and Waine. Skye was chuckling in joy and her face flushed with excitement. The more miserable Faye was, the more elated she was! Ruby was infuriated as well so she scolded loudly, “Fifi, have you lost your mind or something! Why are you still covering up for Zayn at this point? It’s obviously his fault for getting in trouble! Who does he think he is to make us bear the responsibility for him! If he still loves you in his heart, he won’t get a divorce with you or implicate us for that matter. You’re still covering up for him now, is there something wrong with your brain huh!” Faye clenched her teeth tightly with tears streaming down her face profusely. In truth, she had no idea what was going on with her either, why would she still cover up for Zayn like this. She knew obviously that she did not love Zayn yet she still wanted to defend him the other way around. She was doubting if there was something wrong with her brain as well. Yet, she could not bring herself to betray Zayn and watch helplessly as Zayn was being tortured by others either! “Mom, Zayn saved my life on many occasions and he saved the family multiple times as well. We can’t just do this to him,” said Faye in a pleading tone. Miles was infuriated instantly. He grabbed Faye by her hair and pulled her face up. He scolded, “Don’t force me to get tough with you. At this point, I can see that you still won’t betray him because he saved you on multiple occasions, right! It seems that you don’t know the severity of the situation if I don’t show you a thing or two!” As he was speaking, Miles was about to continue to beat up Faye. Upon witnessing the scene, Ruby screamed out aloud as if she had lost her mind. “Don’t hit her, don’t hit her! I’m going to call up Zayn now, I’m going to call up Zayn now…” Miles had only freed Faye at this point. He snatched the phone right away after Ruby dialed the number. It did not take long before the call was picked up and Zayn’s voice was heard saying, “Hello, Mom, is there anything?” Miles had the phone call on loudspeaker. As a result, everyone could hear Zayn’s voice. Faye’s pupils constricted in fear upon hearing his voice. Miles cracked into a malicious smile on his face and said to the phone, “Zayn Larson, I’ve finally found you. You’re a really mysterious man huh.” Zayn was in a meeting at his newly-established advertising agency. He was very intrigued by Ruby’s call because it was very, very rare for Ruby to call him on usual days. He could sense that something was off for her to call him up all of a sudden like this. Yet, he heard a man’s voice as soon as he picked up the call. Moreover, the voice sounded rather familiar. Soon, Zayn figured out that it was Miles’ voice! Instantly, he stood up from the chair and startled the rest of the people in the meeting room. He waved his right hand in the air to signal them to continue the meeting. Then, he walked out of the meeting room and said in a deep voice, “Miles, if you were to touch a single hair on them, I will make you suffer so much you’d wish you were dead.”
