Chapter 7265
"So… Don't you think you owe me a proper explanation for what happened today, Junior Commander?"
Lanny took a step forward.
Her presence silenced everyone in the room.
Clearly, Jade was no longer part of the Platinum Casino. However, this was her territory. Staying silent would only hurt her reputation. She had to interfere, whether she liked it or not.
"Explanation?" Beresford casually sat on a couch, his lazy demeanor apparent.
"Did you lose your mind, Lanny? I'm the Junior Commander of the Lost City's Knights Templar. I am here to attend the Hierophant's birthday party by invitation. I have shown respect by coming in person and even staying at Platinum Casino. So what if I play around with a few women?
"Do you think you're in a position to demand an explanation from me? Why do you think you have the right to ask me for such a thing? With that little gun of yours? Or with those empty threats of yours?"
All of Beresford's followers burst out laughing. Beresford wasn't exactly hiding his intentions behind his words. A few lechers even scanned Lanny with lewd stares. They had to admit that Lanny was much better than Jade.
"Enough talk. Whether she agrees or not, she's not leaving this room tonight," Beresford said as he sneered. "At the very least, we're past acquaintances. Get out before I start drinking. Otherwise, if I get drunk and forget that we're acquaintances, it's not my fault if I decide to take you on."
Beresford even deliberately scanned Lanny, his gaze full of regret and desire.
Someone like her deserved to be with powerful men. He was interested, but he had to weigh Dan's intention first. It was extremely unfortunate.
Lanny didn't react to his words with rage. Instead, she said coldly, "Looks like you won't stop until you see your doom."
"Enough words, Lanny. You're wasting both our time," Beresford said sarcastically.
"I know you're angry, but so what? You can't stop me! If you can, go ahead and call someone. If you can find someone who can handle me, I'll give you an explanation that you'll be happy with. Otherwise, I'll be the one asking you for an explanation later.
"What do you say? Shall we roll the dice and see whose head will roll in the end?"
Beresford's expression was full of amusement. He crossed his legs and puffed on his cigarette. His arrogance could easily make those who weren't in the know think he owned the place.
A man in his forties stood behind Beresford and narrowed his eyes at Lanny. It was obvious that he wouldn't hesitate to strike if Lanny made any moves. He wouldn't show any mercy although she was a woman.
