Chapter 6761
It was obvious Sienna knew what she was talking about. While it was just a few dates, from a certain angle, these dates that Dan gave her could be deemed priceless.
Dan laughed. "Those are just rumors, and you believed them? If it's as wondrous as you said, Parkerville wouldn't have declined through the years. However, the tree is quite old, and the quality of its dates is much better than the ones that go through modern industrialization. I know you like these, so I had them transported here.
"You wouldn't say no to me, right? If you do that, that will damage my reputation later."
Once Dan had said that, Sienna had no choice but to sigh in resignation. She sighed, extended her hand, took out a date, and tasted it. It was quite fragrant, and its sweetness bloomed when she bit into it. It was something beyond describable.
It was completely organic. Just its purity alone was enough, no matter if it was as good as the rumors made it. After finishing the date, she was still enjoying the aftertaste and said, "Thank you so much, Dan. I have received countless gifts, but these are definitely the ones I love the most."
"It's good that you like it," Dan chuckled.
Sienna did not refuse it and simply had a servant put it away. Then, she looked at Dan and asked, "Why are you here in Wolsing this time?"
Dan sighed. "You remember how the old folks in our family talked about marriage a few years ago? They didn't know our relationship was like siblings, and we didn't have that kind of desire. However, they refuse to give up this year. It seems like our folks had reached some sort of agreement and forced me to come over…
"I'm worried it will make things difficult for you, so I've spoken with your folks in the past few days. Don't you worry. I know you don't care much about this, so I won't make it difficult for you."
Sienna sighed when Dan was making it so obvious. "I've heard of it too. I've been thinking about how to talk to you about this, but I didn't expect you'd already thought all of this through. Seems like I was wrong about you…"
"It's fine," Dan chuckled. "We're peers, after all. There's no need to overthink this."
While he spoke words of relief, his inside was cold. As a man who had seen the world, he knew what kind of moves to use against what kinds of women. To someone like Sienna, who was high and mighty, there was no point in pursuing her with dogged determination. Using her parents against her also would not work.
To conquer a woman like her, one must be patient. Sometimes, it is much more effective to take a step back and hide one's advances.
"Alright, let's not talk about these things that get all of us upset. Other than this, I'm going to work with your older brother. That's why I'm here in Wolsing," Dan replied. He stopped the conversation when it was just nice and changed the topic.
"My brother?" Sienna was somewhat shocked. "My brother has always been someone very ambitious. If you're going to work with him, you'll be pulled into all kinds of plots he has already prepared. This is not a good thing."
