Chapter 1695 Regis Tower
Ortwin was said to be in charge of Regis’ safety and daily routine when he was a newborn. In fact, Ortwin had been with him for as long as Regis had been alive. Ortwin appeared to be full of energy even though Regis was terminally ill and had his days numbered. This year, the old man will turn nearly a century old.
Ortwin started to move in their direction. Ansel and Jules rushed forward to greet him.
Despite the fact that he was only a servant, the old man held a high position in the White family. Even if Ansel and the others encountered Ortwin, they would show him respect.
Olympias and Jules would go to the countryside to fly kites together at the time. Regis would occasionally come over and take Ortwin with him. Ortwin hadn’t changed much based on her memories. Ortwin seemed very old to her as a child, especially his white beard on his chin, which had not changed at all. Olympias liked to pull his white beard at the time. The old man grinned every time it hurt him, and Olympias was always scolded by Regis later on.
“Young Lady Olympias, it’s been a long time since I last saw you.” Ortwin looked at Olympias, smiled, and nodded at her.
“Grandpa Ortwin, you still look the same as before.” Olympias smiled unexpectedly, a genuine smile from the depths of her heart. When she saw Ortwin, she felt just like she did when she was a kid.
When Ortwin noticed Olympias staring at his beard, he instinctively covered it with his hand and asked, “Young Lady Olympias, are you still thinking about my beard? You are a big girl now. You can’t mess around like you did when you were a kid. Moreover, I am getting older and my beard is about to run out. I cannot withstand another pull anymore.”
“Hahaha!” Olympias laughed loudly.
“The Old Master is aware that you have arrived,” Ortwin said. “Last night, he didn’t get much sleep. He's overjoyed and eagerly awaits your arrival inside. Please come with me, Young Lady Olympias.”
“Okay.”
Olympias nodded, while Ortwin stretched out his hand. Olympias put her hand over his arm, and the two walked all the way into the Regis Tower.
Ortwin made no mention of bringing Jules and Ansel in together from beginning to end, implying that Regis had no intention of seeing them. After Olympias and Ortwin entered the door, only Jules and Ansel were left on the square.
Ansel broke the silence, “Jules, I didn’t send out those killers yesterday.”
“Oh!” Jules just responded lightly.
Obviously, Ansel was not satisfied with Jules’s reaction, so he aggravated his tone and emphasized, “I said, I didn’t send out the killers yesterday.”
“Ok.” Jules still gave him the same reaction as before.
“Jules, you know exactly what kind of person I am,” Ansel said, his brows furrowed. “I’m not a big believer in conspiracies. Even if I have to fight for the position of patriarch, I will do so fair and square.”
Jules sighed and said, “Ansel, you are the eldest son, and you have the support of the elders behind you. You are the only one who is going to be the patriarch of the White family. Moreover, I never thought about competing with you for the position of patriarch.”
After saying that, Jules said nothing more. He just turned around and left.
Ansel clenched his teeth in rage as he stared at Jules' extremely irritating back. “You are the most f*cking hypocritical man in the world!”

Olympias walked all the way into the Regis Tower behind Ortwin at this point.
In the Regis Tower, the scene was completely different. There was a garden, pavilions, and a large garden pond. As it was currently winter, the flowers in the garden pond had withered, revealing a large pool of water below.
Olympias used to come here as a child to play in the Regis Tower, particularly in the garden pond. There were a lot of different colored fish in it. Olympias’ favorite pastime was fishing in this pond. She was once overly enthusiastic about it and accidentally fell into the garden pond. Fortunately, Ortwin noticed her and dashed over to the pool to rescue her.
Olympias couldn’t help but chuckle when she remembered what had happened back then.
Almost twenty years had passed, yet the scenery has remained virtually unchanged.
In the winter, it was still a little chilly halfway up the mountain. An old man in a winter coat was sitting next to the garden pond at the time. He was holding a fishing rod and staring intently at the fishing bait in the pond.
Fishing seemed to be something a man would enjoy as he grew older. This was the case with Demi of Canonteign Mansion; Silas, the Lord of Dragun Squad; and Regis, the patriarch of the White family, a Creed of an ancient martial arts world.
At a glance, Olympias recognized Regis over there. She hadn’t seen him in over two decades. The old man was exactly the same as he had been before. He hadn't changed in the slightest. He was thin and liked to drape a coat over his body, and he appeared to be curled up in it.
Olympias was a little surprised. Didn’t they say the old man was already terminally ill? How could he fish outdoors?
Olympias had always assumed that the old man should be in bed right now. Maybe he needed someone to help him with his daily routine, but she didn't think he’d be able to sit there and fish. The rumors from the outside world seemed to contradict the facts in some ways.
“The master is waiting for you over there. You can go to him,” Ortwin pointed to Regis, who sat on the other side of the garden pond, and said to Olympias.
“Ok.” Olympias nodded and walked all the way toward Regis.
“You are here.”
The old man’s voice rang as Olympias approached Regis from behind. His voice didn’t change much in twenty years, but he was a little older and weaker.
Regis turned his head. Olympias are finally able to see his face clearly at this point.
He was old. He was getting older, that was for sure; there were more wrinkles decorating his face, and all of his teeth almost fell out by now.
Regis smiled at Olympias as he looked at her. Olympias felt her heart warming up because his smile was the same as before. However, she didn’t know why she felt very sad at the same time at the sight of that smile. Her heart hurt so much for Regis that she felt like crying on the spot.
“Everything is fine now! It’s great that you’ve returned.” Regis turned his head around again, staring intently at the fish bait in the pond.
Olympias sat next to Regis, like she had done since she was a child. She used to accompany him and chatter continuously. But now, Olympias was no longer chattering. She just sat there quietly.
Regis seemed frail, but he sat down as best he could because he had promised his granddaughter something twenty years ago. He planned to fulfill it today.
It was also because of this promise that, after he learned his granddaughter was back, despite being bedridden, Regis insisted on getting up and going to the garden pond. He wanted to await his granddaughter’s arrival there.
