Chapter 1693 You Think You Are Invincible In The Family
“Guards! Kill him for me!” Ansel let out a thunderous roar.
Not only was Ettore surrounded by a large number of fighters, but many people heard the news and rushed to the battleground. This matter had become a sensation as a result of Ettore’s frenzy tonight.
Meanwhile, Jules’ wound had been stitched and bandaged at his house, so his wound was no longer a big deal. Instead of going to bed, he went to the place where Tyr and Olympias were staying, hoping to have a conversation with them.
As soon as Jules arrived, Quent rushed toward him in alarm. He had a few men with him too. He said, “Master Jules, a major incident happened!”
“What’s wrong?” Jules turned his head to look at Quent and asked.
Quent replied, “Just now, Ettore went to Master Ansel and denounced him in public. Both sides are now fighting each other. The incident has alarmed many family members. You have to go over there now! If this matter continues to fester, it will get out of our hands.”
“What?” Jules was dumbfounded for two seconds. Tyr and Olympias next to him were also taken aback.
“What the heck is he doing?”
Quent answered, “He stubbornly believes it was Master Ansel who sent those killers, so he wants to avenge you. You’re well aware of Ettore’s personality. That guy is single-minded. It’s difficult to persuade him to change his mind. You must hurry up, Master Jules!”
“This guy... is becoming more and more lawless,” Jules cursed out loud. Before he even had time to say hello to Tyr and Olympias, he strode toward the door again.
“Boss, should we go over there and have a look?” Olympias asked.
“No, we shouldn’t go.” Tyr shook his head and replied, “Let’s go back to sleep. We better not get involved in these factional disputes this time. We better stay out of this.”
“Okay.”
At this point, the atmosphere in Ansel’s residence had become extremely tense. Ettore had started to become more ruthless. Despite having a large number of warriors under his command, Ansel was powerless to stop Ettore.
“Ansel, you have hurt my Master Jules! Now, you will pay for it with your life.” Ettore’s eyes were bloodshot. He slashed a bloody path with his blade and charged straight at Ansel.
Several warriors stood beside Ansel, but they were so stunned by Ettore’s oppression that they couldn't move. They could only stand there and watch Ettore getting closer and closer.
“Well…” Ansel also became petrified. A drop of sweat rolled down his forehead, together with blue veins on his forehead that were bulging.
There was no doubt in Ansel’s mind that he would die in this situation. It was the first time in his life that he felt so close to death. Ettore was the grim reaper at the time, approaching him with a sickle in his hand.
However, halfway up the Misty Slopes, a white glow cut through the sky and came down from the air at this critical moment. It was a white chain made of air that descended from the sky, which shot at them in the blink of an eye.
The air chain exploded like a firecracker when it landed. It was then followed by a powerful oppressive force that prevented Ettore from progressing at all, forcing him to retreat one step at a time.
“Do you really think there isn’t anyone in the family who can fight you, Ettore? Do you think you’re invincible in this world?”
An old man’s voice resounded in the night sky. When everyone heard this voice, they looked up into the night sky, evoking gasps from many people at once.
“It’s Great Elder Clovis! He was the one talking!”
Clovis was the White family’s most powerful fighter, second only to the Demigod. Even Ettore was inferior to him. Clovis has always been Ansel’s most avid supporter. When Ettore dared to bring a blade into Ansel’s home, Clovis knew he had to intervene. Even though Clovis did not appear on the spot, his tyrannical aura had stunned everyone present.
Ettore took several steps back in a row as well. His heart was pounding with blood, and he had a hideous expression on his face. He was constantly exerting strength as if trying to break free from Clovis’s control, but to no avail.
“Ettore, you’re too cocky!”
Clovis’s tone was tinged with rage as he sensed Ettore constantly fighting against him. After saying that, the unseen oppression was amplified.
Ettore immediately let out a muffled snort and continued to take a few steps back. He felt a squeezing sensation in his chest and tasted blood coming from his throat, but he forced the blood back down his throat.
“Ettore, what are you doing?” Jules dashed toward them at that precise moment, accompanied by Quent and others.
Clovis’ coercion from the sky dissipated instantly when Jules appeared. He knew that Ettore would not continue to go berserk if Jules appeared. Out of the entire White family, Jules was the only one capable of taking down Ettore without resorting to violence.
Clovis did not reveal himself from the beginning to the end. He was the Great Elder, so his frequent appearances were not a good thing.
“Master Jules!” Sure enough, after Jules appeared, the murderous aura on Ettore's body gradually dissipated. He said, "I can't suck it up! "
“You idiot!”
Jules looked very angry. It had been a long time since Jules was as outraged as he was right now, especially in front of Ettore. Jules rarely scolded him. Nonetheless, he chastised Ettore in front of so many people at the time.
“Hurry up and put your blade away! Do you have any idea what you're doing right now?”
Ettore stood there dumbfoundedly.
On the other hand, Ansel and Benoit looked at Jules coldly from the side.
Ansel reprimanded, “Jules, you can bring the evidence and come to me if you truly believe those killers were sent by me. I won’t even blink if you want to kill me or chop me up into pieces. However, the way your guy is making a fuss right now, he is looking down at me, let alone the family. Jules, are you assuming that you’re the partiarch right now?”
Jules didn’t know how to retort at all despite being labelled unfairly.
He had the upper hand after surviving the encounter against the assassins upon returning home. However, Ettore’s actions had cost Jules all his cards.
Jules said, “Brother, it is I who failed to discipline my subordinates.” Then, he approached Ansel and bowed humbly. “Please accept my apologies.”
“Humph!”
When justice was on his side, Ansel showed no mercy. He said, “Jules, your subordinate is too defiant. Does he think he can do whatever he wants with your support? Will you believe me if I told you I didn’t know anything about the assassination?”
