Chapter 1692 Denounce Ansel’s Crimes Publicly

“Ansel, you can’t go to Jules at this critical moment,” Benoit advised as he chased Ansel down. “Don’t you try to stop me!” Ansel had always prided himself on being truthful and upright in his actions, but now he had taken the blame for something he didn’t do. He felt uncomfortable, to say the least. Therefore, he wanted to visit Jules to clear the air. “Ansel, why are you so stupid? No one can wrong you because you didn’t do this,” Benoit said, sweating profusely due to his anxiety. “Even if you are not responsible, you would be deemed guilty if you took the initiative to go to Jules to explain yourself. At that point, everyone will assume you’re going to Jules out of guilt. This crime will truly become yours.” “Ansel, you must not act rashly at this time. Someone must be behind this, attempting to rile up a fight between you and Jules. You will walk into the mastermind’s trap if you continue to act so impulsively right now.” Ansel loosened a little after registering Benoit’s words. “Benoit, what do you think? Who else is capable of summoning four Transformations simultaneously in our family? Other than me and Jules, who else has his eyes on the position of the White family’s patriarch?” Benoit paused for a moment before shaking his head and saying, “Ansel, how could I guess? We don’t know who else in this family has secretly cultivated so much power over the years out of the massive numbers of our family's direct and collateral lineage.” “Father had nine sons, including Zeph, who was expelled from the clan at the time, and Fynn, who died due to his obsession with cultivation practice. Only seven children remain. Who knew how many cards were in their hands?” “What’s more is t hat there are a lot of enemies, not only within the family, but also outside the family. Perhaps these assassins were not sent by our family members. It’s also possible that word of the old man's serious illness has spread throughout the ancient martial arts world, and other families or forces were seizing the opportunity to sabotage us.” Benoit was actually calmer and smarter compared to Ansel. Unfortunately, he lacked power because he was an illegitimate son and didn't have many talents under his command. He had no choice but to rely on Ansel in the end. If he had more cards in his hand, Benoit might have been a better candidate to be made patriarch than Ansel. Ansel took a deep breath and said, “This matter seems more and more complicated now.” “It is your thought that complicates things,” Benoit said. “Since you didn’t do this, don't overthink it. True blue will never stain. Jules should be the one that is concerned about this situation. He was, after all, the one who got attacked. Just go back to sleep.” Ansel was on the verge of calming down at this point. An invisible pressure emerged from somewhere outside the door just as the two were about to return to their respective homes. In the dark of the night, a figure slowly approached them with murderous intent brimming over his body. Immediately, many fighters emerged from the dark night outside of Ansel's house. All of them were guards under Ansel’s command. They were usually hidden in various locations throughout the mansion, ensuring Ansel and his family’s safety. There were eight guards in total. Runo, a Transformation fighter, was the group's leader. He was an elderly man who had watched Ansel grow up as a child. Runo ordered the guards to form a line and guard the gate to Ansel’s house. Recognizing the figure across from them, Runo and the others looked solemn. He asked, “Ettore, what are you planning to do with your blade in the middle of the night at Master Ansel's house?” When Ettore emerged from the other side on his own, his murderous aura bobbed up and down like a sea of waves. He explained, “Ansel sent killers to assassinate Master Jules! I am here today to seek justice for Master Jules.” “What nonsense are you babbling about?” Runo chided angrily, “You have no evidence, so don’t go around slandering people viciously.” “The blade in my hand is the best evidence,” Ettore said, pointing to the weapon in his hand. “I’ll ask him later whether it was he who did it or not.” “How bold of you!” Naturally, Runo and his peers would not let Ettore into the house. They also revealed their weapons one by one to block Ettore. “I’ll kill anyone who stands in my way!” Then Ettore swung his blade without saying anything, and a big showdown took place. Ettore was besieged by Runo and eight other fighters, but they were powerless to stop him. Ettore repeatedly beat Runo’s group and forced them to retreat. A slash from Ettore was so powerful that even Runo, a Transformation's powerhouse, was blown away. “Ansel, come out to see me!” Ettore let out a loud roar. The long blade in his hand slammed into the front door, and a dazzling blade glow descended from the sky, which created an opening on Ansel’s door. Ettore raised his blade and took one step at a time as he barged into the house. Ansel and Benoit were already aware of the commotion outside at this point. At the same time, dozens of guards in the mansion rushed toward Ettore in attempt to protect Ansel and Benoit. When Ettore arrived with a blade from the outside, the murderous intent was still visible on his face. Bloodthirst was clearly written in those indifferent eyes of his. “Ettore, are you crazy? Do you know what you are doing now? Are you going to go rogue? Do you think you can get away with whatever you want with Jules behind your back?” Benoit yelled at him. “Do you honestly believe that no one in the White family is capable of fighting you?” Ettore simply ignored Benoit’s cusses, focusing his attention on Ansel instead. “Are you the one who sent a killer to assassinate my Master Jules today?” “Ettore, if I say I didn’t do this, will you believe me?” Ansel asked, a chill running down his back as he faced Ettore's monstrous murderous intent. “I don’t believe you.” Ettore shook his head bluntly. “Ha...What’s the point of this? Since you don’t believe me, why bother to come and question me?” Ansel snorted coldly. “You are right. It really doesn’t make any sense. So I come here today to avenge Master Jules,” Ettore said as he drew the blade across his chest. “Ansel, you better be aware that death is coming to you today!” “You’re revolting!” Benoit and Ansel were both so irritated that their veins bulged. It was fine if they were the masterminds behind this matter. However, the main point was, Ansel didn’t do that at all. Ettore, on the other hand, came to Ansel to vent his rage regardless if he was culprit or not. Who gave him the courage to do so? Whatever the case, Ansel was the master of the White family. In the meantime, he was the candidate with the best chance of becoming the next patriarch. Ettore’s actions at the moment were considered to be lawless.
