Chapter 1689 Jules Is Hurt
It was a possibility. Many members of the White family didn’t want Jules taking Olympias home.
The killers who dashed toward Tyr had besieged him at this time. Tyr had the Ormr Dagger in one hand and used each hand alternately to unleash his attack. Those assassins couldn’t get close to Tyr because of his powerful abilities.
Olympias’s combat strength was limited due to her expertise in thermal weapons. For a variety of reasons, she didn’t bring any thermal weapons with her to the White family. As a result, she suffered greatly when she was forced to fend off the killers on her own.
Even if her strength relied on weaponry, as one of the five Kings of Regal Palace, Olympias was not a warrior that those killers could easily finish off. She grabbed a killer and snapped his neck directly. Then, she grabbed the blade from the killer’s hand and chopped another killer down violently. That ferocious attack was enough to make him fly out.
Olympias and Tyr immediately had their backs facing each other. It prevented the killers from getting any closer to them.
It was unclear who dispatched this assassination squad. Since almost all of them were Transcendent warriors, it was only possible that the perpetrator was from one of the ancient martial arts world’s great families or Creeds to have the ability to send out so many Transcendents at once.
Ettore, on the other hand, continued to wave his blade. These killers couldn’t get any closer to them thanks to his protection. Despite being Transcendents, they were vulnerable in the face of the Transformation powerhouse.
Just as Tyr and the others thought these killers were weaklings, a terrifying force charged at them from the opposite direction. In the dim light, a figure dashed in front of Tyr and slammed a punch into him.
Tyr ferociously blocked that attack with the Ormr Dagger. After that, he was forced to take several steps backward as a result of the massive force.
“A Transformation?”
Tyr’s heart began to thud violently out of the blue. Before he could calm down, another figure charged at him. This one also possessed terrifying strength.
“Another Transformation?”
Tyr was completely taken aback. Why did two Transformation fighters appear at the same time? Tyr was trapped instantly as these two attacked him from all sides.
At the same time, Ettore was attacked by two Transformation fighters on the other side, making a total of four Transformation fighters from the killers’ squad. Such a lineup was enough to make people feel their scalps crawl with fear.
Isn't it natural for people to wonder who had so much power in the ancient martial arts world? The mastermind was capable of wielding so much power that he or she could ambush them with four Transformation powerhouses at the same time.
Tyr and Jules almost had a certain answer in their hearts at this point.
Tyr and Ettore were cornered by two Transformation fighters each, while Jules and Olympias were surrounded by more assassins immediately.
Suddenly, one of the powerful killers slashed out a blade and launched an attack on them. Olympias eventually kicked that guy out. Another killer attacked them from behind and slashed his blade toward Olympias before she could make her next move.
“Watch out, Oly!”
At this time, Jules was not far away from Olympias. Having spotted someone attack Olympias from behind, Jules rushed toward her instantly.
Jules took that attack for Olympias, feeling the blade digging into his shoulder blade.
“Uncle Jules!”
When Olympias turned her head around, she yelled loudly when she witnessed the scene.
On the other hand, Ettore was enraged when he discovered Jules was hurt. In that split second, all of his body's power seemed to erupt. He directly forced those two Transformation fighters to retreat.
“Sweeping Army!”
Tyr launched a ferocious attack at the same time. He unleashed the ultimate move, forcing those two Transformation powerhouses to flee. The terrifying glow of his blade even injured one of the Transformation fighters.
Those two rushed to Olympias and Jules at the same time, but whenever a killer approached them, Tyr and Olympias would slaughter them.
“Retreat.”
There was a possibility that those killers may have realized the combat power gap between themselves and Tyr at this point. There might be other reasons at play for their sudden retreat as well.
The sight of Jules being injured angered Ettore greatly. He chased after the killers with his blade in hand.
He caught up with that killer who slashed Jules with a blade just now. He then slashed that man's entire body in half without saying anything. Many of the killers in his immediate vicinity were stricken with terror after witnessing their comrade’s death. If Ettore made up his mind to be ruthless, he would murder anyone who stood in his way.
Either those Transformation killers felt a little frightened in their hearts, or they didn’t want to die here. Soon, they started to retreat one after another.
Ettore still wanted to chase after them, but Jules shouted behind him, “Ettore, stop chasing them!”
Ettore stopped at this point. He turned around and returned to Jules at once. He asked with a worried expression, “Master Jules, are you okay?”
That wound was so deep that everyone could see Jules’ bones vaguely through the flesh and blood. Blood had stained Jules’s upper body. It was a shocking sight to behold.
“No biggie!”
Jules waved his hand. He possessed the qualities of a real man. Despite his deep wound, he maintained a calm expression on his face.
“Uncle Jules, you took this attack for me,” Olympias said a little nervously. “I am not going to let anything happen to you.”
“I just got stabbed, so I’m not exactly dying. What are you so worried about?” Jules glared at Olympias before asking, “Have any of you notified someone at home?”
“Yup.” The driver over there lit a cigarette. He just finished making a phone call. His back was killing him at this time, but it was not life-threatening.
“Who sent the killers?” Tyr asked in a low tone, “Four Transformations are sent at the same time. Presumably, there shouldn’t be too many people with such a strong background, right?”
Ettore had already begun walking toward a wounded killer who was lying on the ground at this point. “Tell me, who sent you here?” he demanded as he pulled out his blade and placed it next to the killer’s neck.
However, that killer did not answer. He bit lightly on something and then black blood flowed out of his mouth.
Ettore frowned and quickly pried open the killer's mouth to confirm that the poison had killed him.
“This guy is gutsy!” Ettore snorted coldly, then turned around to face the other wounded killers in the vicinity.
“We won’t tell you,” they said, with a determined expression on their faces.
Slash, slash, slash!
Without saying a word, Ettore slashed several times in a row. Those killers who were still breathing at the scene were killed instantly. With a cold expression, Ettore kept his blade away and said, “I have no intention of letting you all talk.”
He walked back to Jules. First, he tore off his own clothes into strips of cloth to bandage him.
Then, he said, “Master Jules, even if they did not say anything, I know who sent these people. This man has gone too far in bullying others!”
Ettore’s eyes were bloodshot. He didn’t hate those killers at all. He was merely exasperated because Jules was injured.
