Trisha, of course, knew Cyril could afford it. But she also knew this wedding was unlikely to happen. If he were the one paying, then she would have no way to claim the rings as her own.
Thus, she thought it over carefully and came up with a reasonable excuse. "You're already paying for the dress and venue. I should contribute too, so how about I pay for the rings?"
"I've already paid for it, so you don't need to worry about it. All you need to do is try it on and see if it fits."
Ignoring her completely, Cyril simply lifted her hand and slid the diamond ring onto her ring finger. The silver band fitted perfectly, neither too loose nor too tight, as if it had been custom-made for her.
Trisha lifted her hand, looked at the dazzling diamond sparkling on her finger, and a deep sense of satisfaction bloomed in her chest.
She was still admiring it when Cyril suddenly spoke. "Now it's your turn to put mine on."
She turned, and her gaze darkened when she saw him extending his hand towar
