Claire sneezed.
Olivia rubbed her ears. “Do you really think this place is safe?”
They had just finished walking around and were back in the room packing their suitcases.
“I still feel like Julian’s villa has better security,” Olivia said, frowning as she tugged at her ear.
Claire rubbed her nose. “We’re in the hands of Daniel, the fieldwork expert. This bunker’s gotta be legit.”
“Maybe, but something still feels off,” Olivia murmured. “From the airport to the village, I barely spotted any surveillance except a couple of cameras by the entrance. Where’s the high-tech stuff?”
“And remember how Daniel joked on the phone this morning? Always some bugs around—clearly, people are tracking him. If his whereabouts are that easy to trace, what makes this place safe?”
“Unless there’s some mountain spirit guarding us,” she added, half-joking.
