VALENTINA As Papa pinned Carmella down, everyone fell silent under his strong, domineering presence. I felt relieved. Without my wolf, I may have dodged Carmella's attack, but I could not have stopped myself from getting hurt, as it was so sudden. Papa stood straight, his gaze fixed on Carmella. I'm sure Papa would punish her for what she did. She broke the rules in the ring, and by werewolf law, she must be punished, as her actions could have taken a life. However, when Papa turned to me, I noticed a strange shift in his gaze. And before I realized it, he growled at me… “Why are you fighting in the name of training? Is this why I gave you responsibilities?” I blinked, gazing at my father in cold confusion. “Papa, what are you saying?” I asked in disbelief. His sudden change hit me unexpectedly. “Shut up!” Papa roared again. "You're becoming a disappointment." His words stung as I fell into a daze. I felt ashamed and embarrassed. What is wrong with my father? —And then it struck me, an
