Chapter 267 Zenith Town
Leona's POV
Warm sunlight spilled over the seaside town as Dagger and I walked slowly along the cobblestone path. The air carried a faint fishy scent from the sea, mixed with cooking smoke from the houses.
Zenith Town wasn't very large. Wooden houses lined the road, painted white or pale blue. Nearly every home had a small garden out front with flowers I didn't recognize, all in full bloom.
The townsfolk had already started their day. Men with fishing nets and wooden crates headed toward the docks in small groups as they prepared to set out.
Women hung laundry outside their doors while children with schoolbags hopped past us toward the school at the other end of town.
Everyone we passed was friendly. Seeing an unfamiliar face with Dagger, they'd pause and smile.
"Out so early, Dagger? Who's this young lady?" one woman asked.
"I found her on the eastern beach. She was hurt and has amnesia."
Dagger puffed out his chest with each answer, like he'd accomplished something important.
