Chapter 1645 Unlucky
Shane's tone softened when he noticed Benjamin's silence. "Benjamin, you are my eldest grandson, and I hope you live a good life. I don't want you causing unhappiness within the family like you are now."
Benjamin remained silent. He played with the lighter, flipping it with elegant and composed movements.
Shane sighed at Benjamin's silence. "I'm doing all this for your own good."
After that, he fell silent too.
Benjamin couldn't help but feel a bit suspicious.
What did he mean by this was for his own good?
What was Shane planning to do?
Benjamin's brows furrowed as he looked out of the window. He didn't recognize where he was but could tell it was some fancy place.
Benjamin suppressed his displeasure and waited to see what Shane had in store for him.
...
Margot arrived at the school and saw Patrick coming out. She didn't see Benjamin, so she stopped Patrick and asked, "Where's Benjamin?"
Patrick looked surprised when he saw her. "He said he was going to find you."
Margot shook her head. "I didn't see him."
She immediately took out her phone and tried calling Benjamin, but her call couldn't go through.
"What's going on?" Margot grew confused.
Patrick also looked puzzled. "Mr. Inkling said he was going to find you, so I didn't follow him. Where else could he have gone?"
Margot pursed her lips and called Benjamin again. But the results were still the same. He must have switched off his phone.
"What's happening?" Margot tilted her head.
Patrick also seemed bewildered. "He said he was going to find you. I don't know where else he could have gone."
Just as Margot was feeling more and more uneasy, a familiar voice suddenly sounded, "Margot."
Margot and Patrick turned to see Kayla approaching. She appeared tired and no longer resembled a goddess sent from heaven.
Margot quirked an eyebrow. "Do you need something from me, Ms. Cooper? I can't help you. You should look for someone else."
Kayla was interrupted before she could even speak. But she held back her anger. "Do you really think you can stay with Benjamin forever? Benjamin only likes you for your looks. You're an orphan. The Inkling family will never accept you."
Kayla's words were filled with mockery.
Margot looked at her indifferently. "What does that have to do with you?"
Kayla's face turned even uglier. "I'm warning you, stop dreaming. Leaving Benjamin now can save you from getting hurt!"
Margot rolled her eyes. "If that's all, I advise you to keep your mouth shut. It won't work on me."
With that, she turned and walked away.
She had no mood to listen to what Kayla had to say. She still needed to find Benjamin.
A strong sense of bitterness welled up in Kayla's heart as she stared at Margot's retreating figure. She couldn't believe that Amy had failed!
Benjamin had been ignoring her, and the Cooper family was facing various crises. Even her plans to go abroad had been delayed. She couldn't understand why she had been so unlucky lately.
But when she saw Margot, she immediately understood. The reason she had been so unlucky was all because of that woman!
Everything had changed since Margot's appearance.
Kayla had a vague feeling that if it weren't for Margot, everything would have developed according to her plan.
Benjamin would have fallen in love with her, and they would have gone abroad together. Ultimately, they might have ended up together, too!
