Chapter 1642 Stalking
Margot and Benjamin arrived at a small restaurant outside. Benjamin glanced at the menu and furrowed his brows. "Are you sure you want to eat here?"
Margot nodded. "This place is pretty good, and it's affordable."
Benjamin sighed. "Alright, you can order whatever you like."
Margot immediately took the menu and ordered two dishes from the waiter. Then she looked at Benjamin. "What about you?"
Benjamin responded, "That should be enough. Let's keep it simple. I'll take you out for a fancy dinner tonight."
"Okay!" Margot's eyes lit up.
She looked at him. "Victoria came to see me earlier today."
Benjamin tensed. "What does she want? Did she give you a hard time?"
Margot smiled. "You don't have to be so nervous. Do you think I'm a pushover? Anyway, she didn't give me a hard time. She wanted to befriend me."
Benjamin furrowed his brows. "Is she that kind?"
Margot stared at him. "Do you remember the dream I told you about?"
Benjamin nodded. "Yes."
Margot continued, "Victoria also tried to befriend me in that dream. Her only goal is to make someone like me, who doesn't match the Inkling family's status, marry you and diminish your influence.
"This would provide Lance with a chance as long as he marries a wealthy and prestigious lady."
Benjamin sneered. "That's so evil."
Margot huffed. "I didn't believe that dream at first. But when Victoria came looking for me, it confirmed that the dream was true."
Benjamin nodded. "Pay her no mind. Just ignore her if she contacts you again."
"You're right. I didn't pay attention to her and even gave her the cold shoulder. I think I angered her too. You should have seen her face," Margot giggled.
Confusion crept up to Benjamin as he stared at her smile.
She wasn't even 20 years old and had just entered the real world. Yet, she could confront someone as high-ranking as Victoria and handle it effortlessly.
How did she do it?
He had thought that growing up in an orphanage was the reason behind her maturity. But he was starting to doubt this.
No matter how mature she was, how could she compete with someone as cunning and experienced as Victoria?
Benjamin pushed aside his confusion and asked, "How is the progress at the construction site?"
"It's going well. I think it will be completed in under two months," Margot muttered.
"Good," Benjamin replied.
Just then, the waiter brought their food over.
Margot picked up her spoon. "Let's eat."
"Sure." Benjamin smiled.
They began to eat, unaware that jealous eyes were watching them from outside.
Amy stalked Margot closely. She watched as Margot entered the run-down apartment. A cold smirk appeared on Amy's face.
How could Margot dare to seduce Benjamin?
Amy swore she would ruin Margot's pretty face. She couldn't wait to see how effective of a seductress Margot would be after that happened.
Just as Margot entered her apartment, her phone rang. She answered, "Hello?"
Anthony's voice came through, "Someone is following you. I took some photos."
Margot quirked an eyebrow. "Send them to me. Let me see if I recognize them."
"Okay." The call ended, and a photo was sent to her a moment later.
Margot tapped on the attachment for the photo, and a mischievous smile crossed her face.
This person was indeed relentless. What were they planning to do?
Margot settled on the couch with great curiosity and watched some TV.
