Caesar and Sylvia exchanged one final look before she moved to her position in the shadows, close enough to hear everything but out of William's immediate line of sight. They had agreed—Caesar would confront William first, while Sylvia observed and provided backup if needed.

"Caesar," William called out, his voice echoing in the night. "I see your taste in meeting locations remains as dramatic as ever."

"You have my sister," William replied coldly. "Did you expect me to bring an army?"
"I half expected it, yes." Caesar's tone was flat. "Where is Helena now? Safe, I hope."
