"Okay," Tristan said with a nod.
"It tastes good," he later said to Cassandra after trying the food.
Cassandra knew her cooking wasn't anything special, so she said a little shyly, "This is the best I can do. But if you really enjoy it, I'll try to learn and get better at it."
Tristan replied, "There's no need. You're already doing great. Everyone has their strengths. You don't have to be perfect at everything."
She nodded. "Alright."
After dinner, Tristan started putting away the dishes.
"I'll do it," Cassandra offered.
"No way. You cooked for us, so let me do the dishes. Besides, I'm just going to load everything into the dishwasher. It won't take long," Tristan replied.
"Alright, then I'll pick a documentary for us to watch together."
"Sounds good."
If Eleanor had been home, she never would have used the dishwasher. Just like many older folks, she preferred washing the dishes by hand to avoid wasting water or electricity, even if it meant more work.
