Chapter 347
Mark grew anxious. "But to punish your own cousin over an outsider? Is that reasonable?"
Tristan's eyes darkened as he fixed his gaze on Mark.
"What do you mean by outsider? Cassandra is my legal wife. You don't respect her, nor do you treat her like family. That only proves one thing, Uncle Mark. In your eyes, I don't even exist. Is that right?"
The weight of that accusation hit hard. It was so heavy that Mark feared he'd end up getting punished himself.
"Tristan, that's not what I meant. I…"
"Then, what did you mean, Uncle Mark? Tell me. When someone offends the legal wife of the Freeman family's eldest grandson, should they be punished or not?"
Mark knew there was no salvaging the situation now. He clenched his teeth and forced the word out. "Yes."
Tristan's window began to rise, but just before it shut completely, he left one narrow gap and said, "Oh, and Uncle Mark, make sure you tell Debra I'll be back tonight to supervise her. She'd better not think about taking it easy."
