Chapter 269
Janice never thought she'd meet someone in Calyndra as arrogant as she was.
But in Tristan's presence, she saw how powerless she truly was and had no choice but to walk away.
Just before she turned to leave, she shot him a final warning. "Listen up, Tristan. If anything happens to Aaron, I won't let you get away with it."
Tristan scoffed. "Don't worry. I have no interest in lowlives like him."
With that, he walked away, carrying Cassandra in his arms.
It wasn't until Tristan and Cassandra had been gone for a while that his men finally pulled back.
Janice knew she had lost today. It was a crushing and humiliating defeat.
Aidan remained motionless, his eyes fixed on Tristan carrying Cassandra away. A heavy weight pressed on his chest. In his heart, he knew she was lost to him forever.
He extended his hand, grasping at nothing but thin air.
His eyes stung painfully, tears trembling on the edge. He fell to the ground, pulling his knees close. Sobs wracked his body uncontrollably.
