Chapter 1824

The policeman was briefly stunned at first. “Right there,” replied the policeman. Cedar paid the fine for Isabelle and left the police station. Isabelle followed behind him and said gratefully, “Big Brother, thank you. I know why you’re angry, but the policeman earlier said that I should only call my family. The only one I thought of is you! Big Brother, you’re the only one who can get me out of the police station!” ‘The only one,’ she said. Cedar immediately stopped walking when he heard what she said. He softened his tone and asked, “Should I send you home?” Isabelle caught up with him and familiarly hugged his arm. She said, “I don’t want to go home and disturb Mom and Dad’s lovey-dovey time. Big Brother, are you free? If you’re free, why don’t you bring me to the seaside to surf?” Although it was still snowing earlier, the weather became sunny again. Cedar frowned and said, “Why are you surfing in such cold weather?” “I’m not afraid of the cold. It’s more important to be happy.” Cedar always felt incomprehensible in the way she dealt with matters. An ordinary person would never make such decisions. When he thought about it carefully again, he could understand her since she had a playful personality. Isabelle held Cedar’s arm as they walked down the staircase. She was talkative all the way. Cedar would pick up a few key questions and only answer her with a few words. After that, Isabelle suddenly mentioned, “Do you know about Brother Nash? He’s the neighbor who grew up with me. I confessed to him countless times and he rejected me every time. I talked to him some time ago and realized it was my problem. That’s when I decided to stop pestering him and cause him trouble. It’s so sad. I used to think he would marry me, but I don’t have a person that I can pursue anymore!” Cedar nonchalantly answered, “I’ll marry you.” Isabelle asked in surprise, “Big Brother, what are you saying?! Even if no one wants to marry me, Big Brother can’t be the one to marry me! However, I still have to thank you for your kind thoughts. You’re willing to sacrifice yourself to comfort me.” The way Isabelle’s mind worked was simply fantastic. She totally overlooked it, and she was utterly oblivious to Cedar’s sincerity. Cedar faintly asked, “Why can’t it be me?” Isabelle carefully observed Cedar’s expression when she heard his question. Cedar looked as cold and handsome as usual. In that instance, she could no longer differentiate whether he was joking or being serious. Even so, Cedar did not seem like someone who would joke around! Isabelle held his arm tightly and asked, “Big Brother, are you serious?” How could Cedar answer her? What should he do if she rejected him? Cedar gave it a thought and answered on a middle-ground, “I should pamper you because you’re my youngest sister. My whole life belongs to you entirely. If you can’t get married in the end, I’m willing to marry you. I’ll wait for you. Once you get married, I’ll find a wife of my own.” Isabelle suddenly felt touched by Cedar’s words. She said, “But I’m still young. If I get married when I’m twenty-eight, Big Brother would be forty by then!” Was there really a man who would wait for her willingly until he was forty before getting married? Cedar turned aside and stared at her. His gaze continued a deep affection that Isabelle could not understand. Cedar raised his hand and caressed her head tenderly. It was rare for him to speak so gently to her. “I’ve never been in a relationship before. I also want to be in love just like how you do. Since you don’t have a suitable candidate, and neither do I, would you consider me?”
