Chapter 1801
There were many ways to define love.
It could be like how Brother Lucas defined love as stubborn love like faith or an unforgettable love.
However, love could be like how her feelings were too.
She just simply liked him. She liked him just like that.
Was it not considered love if she liked only his appearance?
Isabelle left the mall feeling dejected. She called her dearest Father in the car and asked, “Dad, what is love?”
Zachary was in his study when Isabelle called. He answered the call, put it on speaker, and placed his phone on his desk. He continued practicing his calligraphy with a brush in his right hand as he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Brother Nash said my feelings for him aren’t love.”
Immediately after, she explained everything that happened between Nash and her to Zachary. She also told Zachary about her feelings for Nash.
Zachary frowned immediately after hearing all that. His first impression was that the child resembled Caroline too much.
However, Caroline was more mindful than Isabelle. Even so, she still needed someone to teach her to love.
“Lil Lion, chasing Nash around with no regard isn’t love. Ask yourself this. If this is love, will you fall in love again if a man that’s more handsome than Nash appeared in your love? If your love isn’t determined, that means it’s not love. Besides, there’s a better word for love in a relationship.”
A man that was more handsome than Nash?
In that instant, Big Brother Cedar’s cold looks appeared in Isabelle’s mind.
“Dad, you’re still the best. Earlier, I couldn’t figure out why my feelings for Nash weren’t considered love. Dad, you said that love without determination can’t be considered love. I think my feelings for him aren’t to the extent where no one else will do except him. That’s why it isn’t love yet. I can accept that saying since it’s my own problem after all.”
Zachary enlightened Isabelle with just one word.
Isabelle’s mood turned better and less depressed after figuring that part out. She acted kittenish as she tilted her head and asked in an adorable tone, “Dad, what’s a better word for love?”
Isabelle was still young. At her age, she really loved acting like a baby. She still liked to act cutely regardless if there was anyone around her.
“Devotion. The devotion between you and him.”
“Dad, what is devotion then?”
Zachary fell silent as he recalled how it was like when he first met Caroline.
He smiled slightly and said, “You’re sure it can be no one else but him for the rest of your life. In your lifetime, you will not pay attention to anyone else anymore except for him.”
Isabelle concluded, “He would be the only one in this life?”
“What a clever Lil Lion,” said Zachary.
“Dad, what if I can’t meet a person like that?”
In the past, Zachary only needed to comfort and enlighten Caroline. He then had to comfort his daughter as well.
“You’re still young. There’s still a long time to go. You’ll meet him eventually in life.”
Isabelle asked in melancholy, “What if I just don’t meet him?”
How could Zachary answer that question of hers? After all, it was a pointless question.
“Second Brother, who's on the call with you?”
