I went to the hospital where Bruce worked. I had been there many times before, bringing him and his colleagues food and drinks, and had developed good relationships with the nurses in his clinic. “Rose, Dr. Bruce is in his private restroom.” I set down the drinks, my lips curving into a smile: “These are for you all. Drink them when you’re done.” My hands were full of bags, leaving me almost no room to move. The nurses joked that Bruce was in for a treat, and enthusiastically took half of the items from my hands, offering to take me there. I didn't refuse, smiling gently. Bruce's private restroom was locked, so I took out the spare key he had left at home, inserted it into the lock, and turned it gently. With a crisp click, the door slowly opened. I silently took out my phone and aimed it at the sensual scene on the bed. The nurse’s bag suddenly fell to the ground, making a sound neither too loud nor too soft. The two naked people on the bed turned around unexpectedly. They saw the open door and me at the entrance, too shocked to speak. Sarah instinctively let out a cry, and Bruce frantically pulled the blanket over them, fumbling for clothes on the bed to put on while urgently scolding the nurse with a anxious expression. He truly cared for Sarah. Caught in the act by his official girlfriend, his first reaction wasn't to make excuses but to protect his mistress. That's great. “Bruce, do you have any shame? Cheating with your own patient? Where's your medical ethics?” I stepped back into the hallway and raised my voice to mock him. “Rose, stop it!” Bruce glared at me warningly, carefully putting a new mask on Sarah and shielding her behind him, as if I were some kind of monster. “You have the nerve to do something like this, yet you’re afraid to show your face?” I sneered. Sarah wrapped her arm around his, her almond-shaped eyes showing no sign of guilt. “Dr. Bruce likes me, and I like him. What’s wrong with us being together?” “In a relationship, the one who isn't loved is the mistress.” Her voice rose several octaves. Her way of thinking was beyond my comprehension as a normal person. “Please get this straight: Bruce and I haven't broken up. No matter how much you like him, you're still meddling.” “If your relationship had no issues, would I have the chance to meddle? You couldn't keep Doctor Bruce's heart, so he doesn't love you anymore. Be sensible and let go!” Sarah glared at me, as if I were the shameless mistress. When someone is utterly speechless, they really do laugh out loud. I snorted, and Bruce shielded my view like a protective parent. “This is between us. Don't vent your anger on her.” He looked at me solemnly, then glanced at the nurse and patient who had come over upon hearing the commotion. He tried to close the restroom door. I stepped in front of it, a mocking smile curving my lips. “What’s there to explain? Do you think I’m blind? My phone still has photos of you two getting intimate. What, you’re going to deny it now that you’ve pulled up your pants?” “I told you it’s not what you think. We lost control that we couldn’t hold back our emitons.” Bruce’s expression grew dark, his brows furrowed. Two sharp slaps echoed through the room. I met his shocked gaze and spoke slowly, “After we break up, don’t slander my reputation. Otherwise, don’t blame me for sending those photos to your so-called friends to admire.”
