Chapter 88: His Tenderness
“Be careful for the next couple of days. Don’t let it get wet or it might get infected.”
Arthur looked up at me after securing the bandage, his voice calm but firm.
I stared at him, dazed and unable to shake the warmth of the tenderness he had just shown me.
When I didn’t respond, Arthur frowned, displeasure flashing in his eyes. “Serena Cole, I’m talking to you. Are you mute?”
I jolted back to reality, my face heating up. Seeing his chiseled features so close made me panic. I quickly looked away and lowered my head, pretending to focus on chopping vegetables.
Arthur cast me one last glance, then walked out to the living room. About half an hour later, I brought the food to the table. He was already seated, waiting silently.
