Chapter 95
Natalie couldn't drink.
Stephen had handled most of it for her, and by the end, he was feeling a little tipsy. After the event wrapped up, he swayed unsteadily as soon as he stood up.
"You're drunk, Stephen. Slow down. I'll help you," Natalie said.
"I'm not drunk. I'm fine," Stephen insisted. "It was just a few drinks. I could still drink half a bottle of white wine if I wanted to."
"Alright, no one's drinking with you anymore. The dinner's over. Let's go home," Natalie said, helping him toward the exit.
The waiter kindly opened the door for them. "Take care. Hope to see you again soon."
It was early fall, and the air was still heavy and warm. The moment they stepped outside, the heat hit them like a wall.
After walking a few steps, Natalie heard a rough woman's voice coming from not far away.
"Jeff, the food here is pretty delicious. We should come back next time."
It was Abigail. What was she doing here? Wasn't she supposed to be recovering in the hospital? Didn't she still
