Chapter 801 Wait And See

This set of techniques helped Vickie Thomas a great deal later in her career. Even the series of hidden weapons that she learned later were all derived from this one. As she thought of this, her eyes darkened slightly. A strange feeling crossed her heart. Andrea saw that Vickie was playing darts with concentration and smiled. "Ms. Thomas, you're so accurate at throwing." Vickie smiled slightly, picked up a dart, and handed it to her. "Do you want to try?" Andrea stared at her in surprise. "Me? No, no." She waved her hand repeatedly and said, "I can't throw." Vickie looked at her and laughed. "How would you know if you don't try?" When she heard Vickie’s words, Andrea was somewhat moved. She hesitated but eventually did not hold back and took the dart. "Then...I'll just give it a try. If I miss, don't laugh at me!" Vickie nodded and reassured her. "Go ahead and throw it! I won't laugh at you." Andrea followed Vickie’s stance, aimed at the board hanging on the opposite wall, and threw it. As expected, she missed. Not only did it miss, but it flew so far away from the board that it almost nailed the window next to it. Andrea was a bit embarrassed and regretful when she saw this. "I see that you seemed quite relaxed when you threw it. How come I’ve missed by so much?" Vickie smiled and explained, "The main thing is during preparation, your hand and eyes have to be in the same direction. Your hand was probably just a little off. Do you want to try again?" This time, Andrea shook her head firmly. "No, no, no. I don't think I'll be able to hit the board even if I try a few more times. I've never practiced this and I don’t know how to. You should play." Vickie saw this and did not insist. She took another one for herself and threw it. In her hands, the tiny darts looked as if they had eyes. One by one, they swished and flew towards the target. Andrea was stunned at the sight of this. She constantly clapped her hands and cheered on the side. "Ms. Thomas, your throws are just too accurate! You’re so cool!" Vickie hooked her lips slightly. She raised her hand to pick up another dart and was about to throw it again when she suddenly glanced at a figure outside the window. She then stopped instantly. She frowned as she looked at the silhouette standing outside the window and asked, "What are you doing here?" Gregory Graham walked over. Separated through a window, he looked at her with a hint of a smile in his eyes and replied, "I was just taking a walk and happened to pass through here." He glanced at the dartboard hung on the wall, smiled, and said, "Practicing darts? It's been a few years since I’ve seen you throw. You’ve improved." Vickie snorted. She did not bother to reply. However, this time, she did not know what was going on with him as he did not just walk away wittingly as he did before whenever she ignored him. Instead, he held onto the window ledge with one hand for support and jumped in steadily. Vickie's pupils dilated. She turned her head and saw Andrea's surprised face as well. Vickie could not help but feel angry and asked, "What are you doing?" Gregory raised his eyebrows and looked at her face, which was somewhat red with anger. He was unperturbed by this and even smiled. "I jumped through a window. Didn’t you see?" Vickie was dumbfounded. With a raging fire in her heart, she did not know whether she should vent it out. After all, she thought that this was his territory, so what he did or did not do was entirely up to him. Vickie could only turn her head begrudgingly and ignored him. Gregory felt that he had been shut out. He knew that this woman was angry with him, so he did not ask for more trouble and only said lightly, "The group of people I sent out to investigate your attempted assassination earlier has returned." Vickie was slightly stunned. She turned to look at him and asked, "Any news?" Gregory took a dart and threw it, which stuck firmly on the center red dot of the board. Then, he replied, "Nope.” Vickie's eyebrows furrowed. Gregory then said in a deep voice, "The other party is hiding very deeply. Think about it. Have you offended anyone over the years? The other party clearly wants your life, so most likely it’s the enemies you’ve made in the past." When Vickie heard that, she also realized the gravity of the matter and bowed her head to think about it carefully. However, no matter how hard she pondered, she could not figure out who would hate her so much. These four years, she had stayed in prison and did not go anywhere, much less offended anyone. Four years ago, admittedly, she had offended many people, but those were all based on certain organizational interests or grudges. Now that the Vermilion Bird Organization was scattered and she had withdrawn her membership, all her enemies had either died or retreated. As far as she knew, no one would want to take revenge on her. What was this all about then? He saw her knitted eyebrows and puzzled face as she sat there. Gregory's eyes darkened slightly at this sight. In the end, he did not let her guess blindly anymore. "Alright. If you can't think of any, then don't think about it. Since the other party has already tried to kill you once and didn't succeed, they’ll definitely try a second time. We might as well just wait and see what happens." Vickie was fiercely shaken. Only then did she react and felt that what he said made sense. She nodded along in agreement. "Okay, I understand." Gregory curled up his lips and smiled slightly. Not far away, Andrea, who was standing there, had her head down with a glint of contemplation in her eyes. The next day. The day before, Vickie had slept too much during the day and could not fall asleep at night, so she played until it was late. This resulted in her sleeping in as well. It was only when she opened her eyes and saw the bright daylight outside that she reacted. When she looked at the time, sure enough, it was already 10:00 am. All this while, Vickie had been recuperating in her room. All she did was sleep and eat. She felt a bit embarrassed for herself as she had put on so much weight. She barely managed to sit up on her bed by herself. When she looked up, she saw that Andrea pushed the door open and was carrying her breakfast. "Ms. Thomas, are you awake?" Vickie nodded. "It's a nice day outside. Do you want to go for a walk after breakfast?" Vickie turned her head and looked out into the bright sun. She did feel a hint of motivation. She then nodded her head and said, "Okay." Andrea's face was cheerful when she heard this and replied, "Then I'll make some preparations." After she said that, she set up breakfast for Vickie and went out. Vickie was still unable to walk, so if she wanted to go out, she would have to use a wheelchair. She had been cooped up in her room for so many days, so she was indeed bored out of her mind. It was also rare that the weather was so good today, so it would be nice to go out for a walk just to relax. Vickie quickly finished her breakfast, then she got into her wheelchair and let Andrea push her out. It was a clear day and the sun was shining brightly. The season was late spring. The sun felt warm on their bodies. Even the shadow in her heart seemed to have brightened a little.
