Chapter 35
*TRISTAN*
My heart sank.
Cora’s response made me feel an headache.
She had just accepted my arrangement without arguing as if everything that happened today meant nothing to her.
I had thought she would reject it but she accepted so smoothly,it was beyond my expectation.
As expected, she really wanted nothing to do with me.

*CORA*
As soon as I left the company,my suppressed feelings erupted.
I didn’t want to talk to anyone.
Although I had pretended to be nonchalant and cold in front of him but I was very broken.
I drove my car between the traffic, tears streaming down my eyes, uncontrollably.
Why was I crying?
Because I felt wronged, tired and sad.
The car was only a few hundred meters away, and I could no longer see the road in front of me.
I had to pull over by the roadside.
Unfortunately,a traffic policeman came up to me.
The policeman knocked on the window but I didn’t want to open the door.
He then used a loud speaker to shout outside.
“Hello,Miss. You can’t park here. Please roll down the window.I need to check your drivers license and make corresponding fine.”
As expected, when people get unlucky,it feels like the whole world is against them.
After wiping my tears,I took out my sunglasses and put them on my face.
I said in a low voice as I rolled down my glass.
“I’m so sorry.I wasn’t feeling too well,that was why I pulled over.Please forgive me.”Then I handed my driver’s license to him.
The policeman took the driver’s license from me and said.
“Miss, please take off your sunglasses.I need to confirm your identity.”
I didn’t expect that I would be ask to take it off.I was sure my eyes were red from crying because they hurt a lot.
Would he even be able to recognize me?
I took off my sunglasses.
The policeman looked startled.
I couldn’t blame him though.
“Miss, this is your violation ticket. Please pay it online by yourself.Besides, for the safety of you and others, please don’t pull over here next time.”The policeman gave me my ticket.
Wearing the sunglasses with my right hand,I took the ticket with my left.
When I was about to roll up my glass,I heard a familiar voice.
I couldn’t help but raise my head and the familiar face appeared in my eyes.
It was Dylan.
“What a coincidence!Cora.”
“Oh,Dylan.”My voice was hoarse.
Thank God I already had my sunglasses on now.
I didn’t really want to talk right now and he would be so worried to we how my face looked.
“Do you want to come to the supermarket and have a look. It’s been painted.”
Shaking my head,I replied.”Not today.I’ll take a rain check and….”
He interrupted me before I could complete that.”It’s okay.I understand.Do you want a cup of coffee then?I know a good cafe nearby.Do you want to have a try?”
I paused for a few seconds.And then nodded,helplessly.
Dylan got into my car and I drove off to a coffee shop nearby.
The coffee shop was very elegant and quiet. The inner color was soft and the warm color of the wall made people feel warm.
There were potted plants on each table which looked good.Someone was playing a violin inside.
At this moment, the strings of the violin were slowly drawn across the strings, making a beautiful sound.
I knew it was swan lake.
It was still morning so there was really no one in the cafe.
It felt like we had made a block booking. We choose a table by the window. The two violinists surrendered themselves in playing the violin.
We then had two cups of latte.Seeing that I was frowning,Dylan let out.
“One day,an onion walked on the street while crying. The others were curious about it.Can you guess why the onion cried?”
“I don’t know.” I shrugged.
“Because it smarted from the onion fume.”He replied, dramatically.
I had thought that he was talking about me,but to my surprise,it was something else causing me to burst into laughter.
He smiled at me and continued.”Do you know when people want to die the most?”
This time,I became more cautious.I propped my face with my hands and asked.
“Isn’t it at a time of sadness and despair?”
“No.Everyone likes to say they’re happy to death! So when people are happy, they will tend to think of death.”
“That’s baseless and unreasonable.”I snapped.
Dylan beamed at me.”But it snapped you out of your bad mood, didn’t it?”
I smiled.”Dylan,you’re so so thoughtful.”
“I know and you’re welcome.”
We laughed and drank our coffee.
We didn’t say anything for a while before he inquired.
“What happened today?I don’t think you’re in a good mood.”
I knew he must have seen me talking to the policeman.
“I wasn’t.But I’m okay now.”I switched the topic.
It wasn’t my style to complain in front of others.
“That’s good. You know, you can always call me anytime you’re in a bad mood, right?I have so many jokes up my sleeves.”
I smiled at him.”Got it,thank you,Dylan.”
He nodded.
We then talked about the contract.
One venue Dylan had chosen was still under application of the property right certificate,so he couldn’t work on it yet.
Naturally, the contract needed to be carefully reviewed.
*************
When Phoebe came to the south to buy coffee for Tristan, she happened to see Cora and Dylan chatting happily. Phoebe took out her phone and took a few photos. Because of the location and the way she took the photo,Dylan and Cora looked very intimate. Especially on such an occasion today, how could Cora be so impatient to go on a date with another man as soon as the family meeting was over?
She knew Cora and Dylan were just friends but she wanted to paint the situation black.
Phoebe smiled imperceptibly and said, "Miss, I need to two cappuccinos takeaway. Please hurry up. Thank you."
She couldn't wait to show Tristan the pictures.
On second thought, would she give it to him today or in the future? She'd better to pay more attention on her schemes. If she didn't plan this well enough, she would be hated by Tristan.
After thinking for a while,Leah decided to put it off for the time being. She couldn't prove that Cora was hooking up with Dylan, whom everyone knew was her friend, but if it happened again and again, the evidence would be conclusive.
Now the Godoy family had known that Cora and Tristan had divorced. As long as they drove Cora out of the house, she would become Tristan’s wife.
While she was thinking, her coffee got ready. Phoebe took two cups of coffee and slowly walked out of the door.
Cora and Dylan chatted for a long time. It was already 12:45 at noon.
It seemed that it was time for lunch. "Dylan,I have to go back to deal with the company's affairs. I can't stay long."
Dylan looked at his watch and said, "It's time for lunch. Let's have lunch together before leaving,Cora. You haven't had a meal with me yet. Every time we met, we always talk about business.”
A look of embarrassment appeared on her face. She was thinking about how to reject his offer of lunch but he seemed to have read her mind. "Cora , you won't decline it, will you? It's just a meal between friends. Anyway, it's lunch time. You don't have to be so embarrassed, do you?"
With an embarrassed smile,Cora said, "Alright then."
Dylan paid the bill and went out, while Cora was already waiting for him at the door. The sun was shining brightly outside. Even though it was late summer, the sun was still very scorching.
Under the sun, a breeze blew Cora’s hair. Her hair danced in the wind, and Dylan was already fascinated by Cora’s back. With a gentle smile on her face,Cora turned around which made Dylan absent-minded for a moment. A woman with delicate and charming temperament was incisively and vividly shown on Cora.
"Let's go. Where are we going to eat?" In the sunshine, in order to shade the light,Cora took out her sunglasses and put them on. She looked charming.
Dylan couldn't help smiling, "What do you want to eat? It's up to you. "
After a short pause, She said, "I haven't eaten The Clay’s cuisine for a long time. How about we have a try?"
Dylan nodded.
The two went to a famous Clay restaurant, where there were already many patrons dining there.
There was a smell of chili in the air, spicy but not choked, and the fragrance was pungent.
After they chose a table by the window and sitting down, a waiter respectfully handed over the menu. Dylan asked Cora to order, and she ordered a chilli chicken, fat bean curd, friend chicken, bean curd and a soup.
After ordering, Cora smiled and said, "Did I order too much for us?"
Dylan raised his eyes and a gentle smile appeared on his face. "It doesn't matter. You are so thin. You should eat more to replenish."
Then he looked up at the waiter and said, "Please add another fish flavor shredded pork, dried beef and boiled beef for us. By the way, could you please bring two cups of tea for us? "
The waiter nodded, "Yes, sir. Please wait a moment. The tea will be served soon. Since there are so many people, it may take a bit longer time. We will serve the dishes as soon as possible. "
Dylan nodded.
The two ordered so much food... What would others think? Cora was stunned. And it would be a waste if they couldn't finish it.
However, She didn't say anything. Instead, she observed the strangers around them.
The stranger sitting on the back seat seemed to be a family of three. The dishes had been served. The boy was only 5-6 years old, so his mother helped him scoop up the dumplings with a spoon. While the child was eating happily, the man picked up food for his wife and told her to eat quickly. The family was happy.
On the other table were a group of young people in their early 20's. A bit noisy but full of youthful vitality. They ordered ice beer, which seemed to be a small party. They clinked glasses happily. 'It's so good to be young, ' Cora thought.
In fact,Cora didn't think that a small restaurant was much worse than a five star restaurant. As long as it was clean, it was much more humane than a big restaurant. But it was not good to dine outside. In the past, She was very fastidious. But now, she realized life was only a few decades away. She could live a relaxed life without making do with it.
The dishes were served one after another. The boy at the next table had finished their meal and looked around. All of a sudden, the boy saw Cora and couldn't help asking loudly, "Mom, mom, why did the people on that table order so many dishes? Can they finish them?"
Since his voice was loud, Cora couldn't help but turn around and take a look at the child. The child's mother nodded awkwardly, indicating that she was sorry. Then she whispered to the child, "Don't comment loudly on others in public, understand? Those people have a good appetite, so they eat a lot. When you grow up, you will also eat so much. "
The boy pouted as if he had realized his mistake. The boy stopped talking.
Looking at the dishes on the table,Cora realized that they had ordered too much!
Dylan seemed to see through her doubts. "Don't worry. I'll ask the waiter to pack some of the dishes first and bring them to the supermarket later in case if there is someone who hasn't eaten yet. They could eat it. "
She nodded. When the waiter served the dishes, Dylan asked the waiter to pack several of them.
The two looked at the rest of the dishes and smiled at each other. It seemed that they had reached an agreement to finish all the dishes on the table!
The two chatted while eating. It seemed that they had a good appetite.
After lunch,Dylan raised a smile, "It seems that we shouldn't have packed those foods to take away, they seem to not be enough."
Raising her eyebrows, Cora said, "Do you mean I ate too much?"
Dylan replied jokingly, "No, it's because we have a good appetite."
She couldn't help but burst into laughter. Then she became serious. With a big smile on her face, Cora realized she hadn't eaten so much for a long time. The spicy flavor in her stomach made her feel comfortable beyond description.
This was probably the so-called appetite?
She smiled, "Get in the car. I'll drive you to the supermarket. "
Dylan nodded, "I'm so lucky today."
